Buying plants on line

I have had some success buying plants from Ebay. Today a Vinca Minor arrived so safely packaged that I had difficulty getting through all the tape. It's in excellent condition and the compost is still damp. I know it sounds risky buying plants this way, but the vendors depend on getting good feedback from buyers. I have been very pleased with a Buddleia Globosa which I bought about nine months ago and which is flourishing - I hope to see it in bloom soon.

Has anyone had problems with an online purchase?

One of the geums I bought from eBay has arrived in very poor condition. It has obviously been divided and is actually half a plant, there are signs of rust and the leaves are yellowing.

I hope I'm not expected to send it back. I doubt it would survive the journey. angry

I've contacted the seller and am awaiting a reply.

Grrrrr! He's not having it. Despite the photo showing quite clearly where a diseased leaf has been removed, rust spots and yellowing leaves. He still insists it a healthy plant.

I'll just have to wait until eBay ask for feedback!!

The other nurseries I ordered from sent lovely healthy plants.

I'm really surprised he hasn't offered you a refund.

Me too, janer. A bit daft to be digging his heels in over £4.25 when the photo shows the poor condition of the plant.

He also didn't supply a label. hmm
