Sweet peas

I've got a pale pink perennial one. It hasn't done very well this year. Not enough sun probably. hmm I prefer the "real" ones.

I love the perennial sweet pea. I have the white one (which would look good in any bridal bouquet) and a very pale pink one. I'm glad they are tough as I love to see them clambering through shrubs and they withstand some pretty severe frosts.

The perennial "sweet " pea has no fragrance and I grew it not knowing that it is impossible to get rid of it

As I was cutting a small bunch of deliciously fragrant sweet peas this evening, I was reminded of a vase I stuck my nose in the other day. They looked like sweet peas, but had no fragrance at all. Is it right to call these sweetpeas? How do I know if the variety of seed I buy is going to smell sweet? Any recommendations for me, so that I know I'll have a good result next year?
