I'll never trust Monty Don again

Following Monty Don's advice this week, I have been removing the immature figs from my trees.

I now have burns and blisters up my arms and the itch like hell, now I find that the latex sap is dangerous. I had to shave my arms to get it off, dosed up with anti histamine and liberally applied AH creme, has helped but still red and blistered.

I watched Monty the other day advising a young woman with a postage stamp size garden to plant a BIG tree in the middle.

What was he talking about? I personally wouldn't even of entertained a tree in a garden her size, but at least she took the advice of the tree nursery and went for a tree of a smaller size, much to Monty's disgust.

This is an expert, I think not.
