Rose problem

What whitewave says is good advice. If you do find that there is still a bit of green in the stem, prune hard and dig plenty of bonemeal in around the roots, topping up with a good mulch. If there is still no new growth by end of May then I'm afraid you'll just have to dig it up and throw it away. Don't lose heart, it happens to all gardeners from time to time.

You should have small leaf on it by now if not scrape a stem if it is green it is still alive!

Depends where you bought the roses, a garden centre near us guarantees plant for more than a year. Worth a try.

If not prune it and give it a liquid feed.

That's what I suspected. Unfortunately as it's over twelve months ago I bought it I don't think I will be able to take it back.

Sounds like one was already on its way out. Can you return it to the supplier?
It probably became too dry.
