Daffodils

Last year I planted some late in December knowing they’d be better in the ground than not. Many came up ‘blind’ but I hope for better this year. It’s been suggested that the weather might be to blame - but then that’s always the excuse!

I planted a bag of daffodils last Autumn in a newly dug over and manured bed. I used a bulb planter so they were all planted at the same depth. To my dismay not one daffodil has come up ? I am not new to gardening but I can’t understand why the bulbs have not come up! Does anyone have experience of this please?
