Can anyone identify this please

Ceanothus or Californian Lilac it is a lovely shrub or tree.

It looks like Californian Lilac/Ceanothus.

I believe there are dwarf varieties suitable for a pot.

Oh, I love ceanothus.

When I was working I used to drive past a garden with ceanothus either side of the garden gate. They were beautiful.

That's what it is by the way. With Tanith I do agree.

We had one in our Oxfordshire garden, with a clematis growing through it. The people who had the garden before us had planted them. Looked lovely.

Baggs, tanith and MiniMoon are bang on the money, it's a Ceanothus. I also agree that dwarf varieties are suitable for pots. We used to have a Ceanothus in our garden but after about six years it became unhappy, I think we must have done something wrong ?.
