Plant and berry ID please

At a guess (difficult without seeing the whole shrub) I’d say Hypericum (Rose of Sharon). I won’t guess which species as there are a few.

Yes you're right NanTheWiser I have one in my garden.
The berries turn from green through to orange/pinky colour then red to black.
Lovely filler in a border. No trouble either.

Definitely hypericum acka St. John’s Wort. Once you have one it spreads everywhere.

Yes it does, I’ve decided enough’s enough and any newcomers get swiftly dispatched!

I love stuff that you can't get rid of because you can hoick it out without the worry that it won't reappear.

We do actually have Rose of Sharon (St John's wort) in our garden.

The berries on our R of S Bush are quite small compared to the berries in the photograph.

However, as you say Nanthewiser (great name) there are several types of St John's Wort,
In our garden, we have both a bush (wish I lollypop) and a low creeping Rose of Sharon.

The bush does have much smaller flowers than low growing variety.
