I have a large shrub in my garden with dark green oval leaves and purple spear flowers. It didn't flower last year only moved here just over a year ago. Does anyone know what it is called? I live in the north west .

Could be a ceanothus or a Hebe. I agree a photo would be great.

Have you tried googling shrub purple flowers?
Unless you provide a photo that would be the simplest way to get an answer.

Thank you for your replies . I looked at Ceanothus and that's what it is . Thank you again. Couldn't work out how to post picture not very tech savvy.
