Have you tried googling shrub purple flowers?
Unless you provide a photo that would be the simplest way to get an answer.

Could be a ceanothus or a Hebe. I agree a photo would be great.

I have a large shrub in my garden with dark green oval leaves and purple spear flowers. It didn't flower last year only moved here just over a year ago. Does anyone know what it is called? I live in the north west .
