Our fuchsias are going strong too and we also have one clematis still flowering.

Ive still got a sweet pea plant hingin’ on ?. I think it’s in for a shock ...

I’ve got something in bud in a pot in our South facing front garden, it’s nearly 3 feet tall and is going to be either an Iris or Gladioli, we shall see.
Unless we get a frost and it will die, without having reached its full, but rather late potential.

Going for a walk today we saw a tulip in somebody’s garden, in flower.
We have ( flowering) primroses and fuchsia but that’s all.The Spring bulbs are poking out of the ground by a few inches.

I haven't planted my tulip bulbs yet

DH brought me a little bunch of violets in from the garden yesterday and the primroses are starting to flower. We still have poppies and lots of fuchsias. Does anyone know if I should cut the fuchsias back? I usually just leave the hardy ones and put the others in the greenhouse.

Hastily googles Bacopa

Lexisgranny Sat 12-Dec-20 18:10:24

I had two Bacopa in an early spring basket. I transferred one to a summer basket but the other was feeling a bit sorry for itself. I stuck it, with a good root, in an empty pot that was to hand, and put it near the back of a slate covered bed. It is now flowering profusely, leaving a lush carpet of white flowers on the blue slate. Fortunately we are yet to have any severe frosts which may be the reason, but I have had a good nine months flowering from it not bad for £1.99. Its mate in the basket is long gone!

It’s an Oriental Poppy which is a perennial that dies back after flowering. Never seen one out this late in the year. Must be warm where you are. Mine died back some time ago but they will return next year.

Still got red roses and a couple of welsh poppies in flower and nasturtiums...as well as lots of primroses in flower

The blooms on ours quickly fade and drop, MiniMoon, but they're lovely while they last.
I'd go out and try to take a photo of our winter jasmine but it's raining and very wet out there.

petra I dont know what they're called, we just call them "brushes" and the bees love them. It did have another flush of flowers about a month ago which was unusual.

MiniMoon Fri 11-Dec-20 10:38:23

It's definitely a pink poppy Callistemon. Very pretty as the blooms fade to mauve as the age.

Callistemon Fri 11-Dec-20 10:37:25

A Callistemon is a bottle brush.
I need to change my username as my hair has grown since lockdown grin
I might call myself Roberta (bob)

Callistamon
I have one Callistemon ( I don't know what the individual blooms are called) and 2 others trying very hard. ?

shysal Fri 11-Dec-20 08:44:19

I have one solitary Gladiolus in flower, a bit waterlogged but it has been out for a few weeks.

Callistemon Thu 10-Dec-20 23:37:56

Is it salmon coloured? I have one (well several now) like that.

Callistemon Thu 10-Dec-20 23:37:07

It still looks lush and green as well, mine had died back.

The fuschias are still flowering away though and a few penstemons which refused to flower in the summer have decided it's not too late to bloom.

MiniMoon Thu 10-Dec-20 23:23:02

What is this poppy thinking?
Any more unseasonable to flowers out there?
