Could be red clover, they have hairy stems I think.

janeainsworth I think you may be right I’ve only seen the pics she sent and she asked what the flower was so I just assumed. Time will tell thanks everyone.

Are you sure the red thing is a flower Tanith? It looks more like a new leaf to me.

I think you'll have to wait till some more leaves develop, Tanith. It could be aquilegia (columbine).

My daughter sowed some packets of seeds in pots, she’s never gardened before so didn’t keep the packets I’ve no clue what it is. Any ideas?
