Everything in my little garden is growing well.

I have a wildflowers coming up again all from seed and a lawn.

A dwarf lilac tree in bloom. Pots around the shed. A bamboo privacy screen with climber climbing up it. Pots on patio. Thrift plants growing along fence narrow strip

I couldn't change garden layout because it's a rented house. But kept path and patio as is with oddly match slabs.

I have sun in the morning by the back door patio and have a bench there and chairs. And afternoon sun down bottom of garden with seating.

I think it looks good pleased with it. In the wild flowers side there are poppies in bud and big daisies and camomile ready to bloom for summer when we get the heat wave ha.

That lilac tree is beautiful. I get a bit of next doors over the fence but it’s only in bud!

You must be further south than me.

Thank you. I an in SE London We get lot sunny weather here dry days. Apart from wet May

Peasblossom Sun 23-May-21 11:16:28

Very wet May. We’re awash.

I’m mostly vegetables and they are going nowhere.

London’s always that little bit warmer ?

Grany, I too grow wild flowers. I have deliberately planted some seeds I got as a gift but mostly my wild flowers are self seeded dandelions, daisies, buttercups (newly in flower) green alcanet, wood violets, hedge anemones, male ferns, an oak tree, willowherb (not yet in flower) and various grasses.

The bees' favourite seems to be deliberately planted cotoneaster horizontalis in flower now.

Hopping will see end of May wet weather soon and looking forward to heat wave Lovely to grow vegetables Peasblossum the good weather nay help veg.

Alexa sounds you doing well with wild flowers, I love mine mine they have self seeded this year. I had loads of bees last year, when more I'd wild flowers are in bloom will get the bees again.

My garden is just stuck. It’s so cold nothing is moving. Doubt I’ll get much fruit and veg this year.

Peasblossom Sun 23-May-21 12:25:41

No Polarbear. All my blueberry bushes have shed their blossom without setting a single fruit. And the carrot leaves have stayed at half an inch for weeks.

We haven't had much sun this year it's usually warm in May so affects fruit veg growing. Waiting to get out in garden more in hot ☀️

Teacheranne Sun 23-May-21 13:38:20

A number of my plants have suffered after beginning to bud and then being affected by late overnight frosts. My hydrangeas have brown flower tips and even the ferns are not looking very healthy! Here in the NW, we really need the sun!

Luckily we haven't had frost here for a while Teacheranne. Hopefully the sunshine ☀️ will be here again soon and give a boost to the flowers ? shrubs and veg smile

I think I’ve lost my Fratillaria. My own fault: I should have watched the weather forecast. www.google.co.uk/search?q=fritillaria+imperialis&client=safari&hl=en-gb&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=uo_K3-6vIem-FM%252C7fnXfwuIO34LcM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kQBKw99wQqeXhn5XT26O3SVyz38vw&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwic0Jm38OHwAhXyweYKHbx7BhYQ_h16BAg2EAE&biw=1276&bih=911&dpr=2#imgrc=uo_K3-6vIem-FM

My raised beds are doing really well so far even though it's been extremely wet. My black currant is coming on well too but my raspberries not so good.
It's hit and miss got the slugs and snails to arrive and the caterpillars that cause devastation. But I watched my dad persevere and I do the same successes or not.

Your garden looks lovely Grany. It’s so nice to have a little sanctuary, isn’t it?

MaizieD Mon 24-May-21 11:30:51

Everything in my garden is just racing now, thanks to the rain. Including the weeds; from tiny to enormous in the space of a few days. I've taken out bagsful (big 25k+ size horse feed bags) and there are masses still to be extracted... they've certainly shrugged off the cold.

EllanVannin Mon 24-May-21 12:09:42

So lovely and natural Grany, well done.
