Hi garden experts. I am growing tomatoes in a mini greenhouse and have a few which makes me very happy. However something has started to nibble at them, mouse or rat probably. They aren't huge tomatoes and are very green. My question is, can I pull them and put them on the kitchen windowsill to ripen or will they just rot?

At the end of the season I used to pick everyone and place in a bowl on the kitchen worktop. The all slowly ripened giving me tomatoes for another couple of months.

Thank you. It's not the end of the season but I don't want to lose my lovely wee crop to vermin. I'll pick them now.

I had lots of green tomatoes one year and ripened them in a brown paper bag in a cupboard.

Allegedly if you put them in with or near a ripening banana it helps.
