My lawn isn't weedy, it's biodiverse

My lawn is a right old state! I said it was going to be my retirement project but have yet to make a start. One day perhaps I’ll get there 🙄

I love a biodiverse lawn. Lovely to walk on in bare feet.

I didn`t want a lawn and have hardly any bare earth. Masses of sprawling sedum with very many flowers and fruit trees. An eden and as biodiverse as could be

I like some weeds but not others. There's a lot of clover in the lawn, loved by bees - and staying green in the heatwave. Still, I do dig up dandelions as they just look wrong there. The little native dog violets pop up everywhere and invade the lawn but no problem, I think they're pretty. I like moss these days, too, so don't bother destroying it.

I'd like the bottom of our lawn seeded with wild flowers, but my husband isn't keen, and as he does 100% of the gardening, I let him make those decisions.

Mine has a lot of flat thistles. Very painful to stand in in bare or stockinged feet, so I’ve asked my garden guru to suss out some sort of Autumn/Winter weed killer, if appropriate. It’s all very green though, as we’d had days and days of rain before this sunny spell.

My son in law dug up his lawn last autumn and seeded a Clover lawn. It's doing very well, and so bee friendly.

Dh would like perfect lawns but our garden is too big for it to be practical.

We had lots of bees hovering over our lawn this year too. Lovely and lush.

I've got grass. Not sure it deserves to be called a lawn. It's interestingly full of strange grasses and weeds. But it does get cut regularly by my nice young chap.

My "lawn" is simply and area of green vegetation. I like it that way. And the area at the bottom is full.of wild flowers. I love them.

I’d be happier with no lawn, would prefer lots of raised beds and interesting planting. Mr C loves to see green so grass it is. I’ve borders to enjoy tending and (far too) many tubs. We don’t cut the grass ourselves, it’s done for us so no effort needed. Is it a lawn? Well, it’s green, I call it happily scruffy.

My tortoise doesn't eat grass, so I always know when the weeds start to grow in the lawn because she can be seen chomping away at them before I can see them! Dandelion and clover mostly and the odd plantain. She's a very effective weed-destroyer!

Mine's very diverse. Dandelions, ordinary grass and the one I dislike most, oxalis. Comes up just about everywhere overnight. No daisies, though, we don’t get many of those.
