It’s normal for buds to form now on rhododendrons, by coincidence my Magnolia has flowers on it now, first time I’ve seen it.

Ah Katie I’ve purposely looked at my neighbours Magnolia tree and that has flowers on it too.

The buds are next year’s flowers.

I have several rhododendrons that flower in the spring. Three of them have buds and some flowers this time of year as well for the first time ever.

This is normal.

Cheers Baggs I was beginning to wonder if I had hibernated for the winter 🤣🤣

I noticed this morning that a, not very healthy, rhododendron in my garden is flowering In spring it barely makes the effort to produce more than a couple of flowers. Although there are not many flowers on it at present there are plenty of buds.

I have seen several rhododendrons with flowers, I think partly it is due to the weather but also I have noticed flowers in the past.
