I've planted up my forced hyacinths ready to add joy to the house in January.
I give them as gifts, too, and they are always well received.

I'm a self confessed flower freak !
I've planted Delft blue hyacinths inbetween the lavender and a mixture of pink tulips in tubs in the front garden .
My garden has been a bit a disappointing due to ill health-so I'm working on it for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon if I can .
At the moment , I'm reclaiming a section , which has been invaded by brambles in the back garden .
I'm planting white and yellow Dutch iris and pure white narcissus .
I want to see white at the bottom of the garden .
Midway , there's a narrow section of trellis bed and in planting that area with the sane colour scheme my eye will be led to the lower section .
And then , there's all the other bulbs in a huge sack !

I've just bought lots but haven't planted them yet. All my old ones were getting a bit feeble so I've decided to replace them.
I use pots mainly.
I resist planting them too early, as Devon tends to be often milder, and if I plant them too soon they tend to come up blind.

I put miniature daffodil bulbs in amongst other plants in boxes and they multiplied so much I had to move them. Someone dug a hole in the front lawn for me and kind of threw them in then replaced the turf. When they grew last spring they grew with a layer of turf on their leaves like a hat, so I had to carefully disentangle them 😀
They flowered well after that. daffodildaffodildaffodil

I love to see spring flowering bulbs emerging, it will be well worth the effort, Esmay

Oh Esmay, that sounds great, I have been inspired & must stop messing about & go and get some bulbs. Something to look forward to; warmer weather and beautiful blooms.😊🏵🌺🌻

I have to cover them tho as blackbirds dig about in them.

Well done you😃
Buying the bag of bulbs is the easy bit.Having said that, it’s easy for me as I don’t have an actual garden, it’s a yard but I do like a few pots of daffs in Spring.I just push the bulbs into the compost and it’s done.

I bought a stack of bargain price spring bulbs from Lidl .
That's great .
How my back and knees ache from day after day of planting .
But I'm looking forward to the result !
