Wild flower seeds - what should I do with them?

At a wedding last year, little envelopes of wild flower seeds were given to guests. No instructions. They've been kept in the fridge all winter.

Could these be planted in compost in pots at this time of year? I hate to see them go to waste but I don't have a clue what to do with them.

Thanks.

Wild flowers do best in impoverished soil. I have a similar packet of seeds and have sown them in a large planter with some compost mixed in with a lot of grit.

Or, you could do a little guerilla gardening- sprinkle them on nearby grass or verge....

I've grown them in compost filled pots or in a little patch in my garden equally successfully - these are in a little patch of garden a couple of feet square. Water the soil before you sow the seeds as some of them are very light and can all get washed to the corner.

Oh that's beautiful Churchview. I have one of those packets myself, I'll give them a try in a pot.
