I have some arthritis in my hands, and I struggle to remove the battery from the mower to recharge.

When out trusty old petrol mower gave up, we bought a Metabo cordless, highly recommended by a friend, we had always had petrol but decided it might be a good idea to
It’s brilliant, my husband loves it, definitely wouldn’t go back.

PS. Our back of house lawn is also on a slope.

My DH age 75 has the Greenworks battery lawn mower. He bought the one with the widest cut and 2 batteries. We have a lot of lawn. He is very pleased after 3 years of use. A great first cut once again this year. It also has a booster setting for days when you might need that extra bit of push if you have a back issue. Highly recommend.

I have a Mountfield. No complaints. So much quicker than the push mower, and no cables to bother about!

I found our cordless lawn mower much, much lighter than the one that had a flex.

Unfortunately, the one we bought was not strong enough to tackle our rough grass, so I am back to using an electric mower with a flex.

I have a Greenworks rechargeable battery mower. It's fine on my back grass which is fairly flat but it complains bitterly when I'm doing the front, which is thick and rather lumpy. It's just 'not man enough' for the job.

Perhaps now is the time to consider going wild? I've got a wonderful crop of dandelions! lol

I’ve got a Spear and Jackson one, it’s my second cordless. My first one was a Bosch, and lasted six years. This one is on year two, I like it because it is a bit heavier, which makes mowing my large bumpy lawn easier because it doesn’t skip over the top of the more hollow sections, it’s not too heavy though, still much lighter than a petrol mower. It’s also got a wider cutting blade - if there was one thing I’d advise you to do, it is to get a wider blade, because it takes less time to cut the lawn that way.

We have the Gtech and would give it 10/10. We love their carpet sweepers too.

We have just bought a new cordless lawnmower and it’s great. Easy to use and store and light to use. It is by Greenworks. There is currently a good offer on them plus free next day delivery.

Why not involve the son in law with the decision?
Maybe go with him to look at some first to get an idea?

If you get a cordless with a roller then you will get stripes. I have recently replaced a Bosch with a Karcher and in my opinion the Bosch was far superior. They both easily coped with an hour of mowing.

Not a cordless one but our lightweight hover mower served us well for many years. No good if you want stripes though!

We have a Macallister cordless. It definitely makes life easier than a non-cordless, even if it means yet another battery to recharge. I paid close attention to the weights when choosing it, and went for the lightest, but I still find it blooming heavy. Am I happy with it? Overall yes. It does the job well enough though there is some rubbery stuff on the handle which has started crumbling. Also The grass collector strikes me as a bit flimsy, so I'm not sure how long that will last.

DH has been struggling with back problems, mowing our back and front lawns. Both are on a slight slope. My wonderful stepson has offered to come and cut it weekly as he no longer has grass at his home to do. Our old mower is heavy and we want to buy a cordless one to make the job easier. I could also then have a go at it - possibly. It's not a huge garden but the back is quite big. Sorry not good on sizes. I would think it could all be done in about 30 mins time. Any recommendations would be really appreciated. Thanks
