Two things.

1. Has anyone collected bath/shower water in a butt and used it in the garden? What advice and any body/hair washes to avoid?

2. Years ago, I read about a garden share scheme. No idea what it was called. Basically, people who loved gardening but did not have one (flat living etc) teamed up with someone with a large garden who could not cope for whatever reason. They could grow their own veg and flowers, as well as taming the beast.

Can anyone remember what the organisation was called?

I am in the \Norfolk area.

The RHS has advice on using grey water.

Apparently soil and potting composts are effective at filtering out contaminants such as soap and detergent and the residues can sometimes act as a mild fertiliser. But it advises against using on edible crops due to the risk of contamination from pathogens in the water.

For garden sharing perhaps Lend and Tend or try your local Facebook community pages.

I use grey water on plants including vegetables like beans - but I don't use it on seeds (also don't use 'waterbutt water' on seedlings) as it can lead to damping off
If you are looking for a small area to cultivate - see if your local allotments offer 'mini plots'. We offer them on our site, they are 1.25 rods which is about 35 sqm.
