Just received an order from an online supplier. The plants look healthy, but are elongated and bare at the bottom. Should I cut them back to thicken the plants, or leave them ? Many thanks.

I would ask the seller , you must have an email address

I’d pinch out the growing tips, that will give you bushier growth.

I love Marigolds and usually have a tub of them in my yard along with other annuals.I grow them from seed on an indoor windowsill, so easy to do.
I would do as Casdon suggests and then plant up in Miracle Gro compost.
