I thought glyphosphate is applied to individual leaves such as bramble, docks, or nettle. I can't imagine why anyone would want to spray it broadcast. A waste of money (apart from the damage to wildlife).More likely to be insecticide against greenfly.
Maybe you could ask them exactly what they are spraying . Could it be plain water?
Nope - it was a commercial "gardener" they used (they'd spotted him dealing with another garden nearby....). He was wearing one of those backpack things that are used for chemical gardening. There's no greenfly or anything like that on those weeds. The owner two back of that house used a gardener at intervals that literally pulled out and/or cut down the weeds and then used salt on the ground instead of weedkiller. It's basically concrete ground that they're coming up through. So - nope not plain water...
Right now I'm too upset to even think of talking to them and I'd be letting fly with my temper if I tried to and a few short sharp comments...
