Gnome people invading garden

This is my first post on this website, so hopefully this works. I am looking for some advice. Little gnome people keep crawling through the holes in my fences and gnawing at my daisies and pumpkins. No one believes me when I tell them, they think it's foxes, but I know those sneaky little buggers all too well, they're definitely up to something and I have to find out what, but no one I know will help me, so I came here in the case that someone has had a similar experience? Please share any solutions if so.

Where's GrandmaMaples -

Probably having a nice lie-down after taking her meds.

I was thinking GN could also have GN2 - Gnomenet. The gnomes pooed on my upstairs decking last night, they seem to love our warmer summer weather.

😂😂😂

Where's GrandmaMaples - she wanted advice about her problem and no-one is taking it seriously!
Her first post on GN too.

Defo gnomes in disguise as rabbits. Rabbits don’t like herb gardens but these do. These gnomes are right herb berts.

If they like your garden, I think they will keep coming back gnomatter what you do.

Listen carefully and you might hear them singing:
...ha ha ha, hee her hee, I'm a laughing gnome and you can't catch me

Allira

^They’ve got gnomanners.^

Oh dear, I'll have to try the Gnomore instead!
Never mind.

Just retrieved it from the shed and, with my new spectacles, I can see it says Growmore.
Duh!

Casdon Thu 05-Feb-26 17:15:13

I don’t think so Allira, as he trusts gnomeone!

Allira Thu 05-Feb-26 16:51:00

😲
They've planted them in all the cracks between my paving slabs and in the gravel! I've never caught them, but it must be them because it wasn't me.
Do you want them back?

Aldom Thu 05-Feb-26 16:47:53

Somewhere there must be some Gnomes with a lovely display of cyclamen in their garden. Years ago I planted £25 worth of cyclamen corms, the pesky gnomes dug them up and ran off with them.
I think of those gnomes every autumn when I don't see my hoped for, beautiful display of cyclamen. grin

DH has a tub of granules in the shed called Gnomore. If you sprinkle it around, it deters gnomes and helps your plants to grow.

Casdon

I’ve only got one gnome, his name is Billy Gnomates.

😂

He must bd lonely.
I can send him some friends via Elvi, sorry Evri.

Fallingstar

Tell them to go gnome. 🤣

Ok will get my coat 🫣

What if they haven't got a gnome to go to?

Your post has dredged up memories of a record called, I think, 'The Laughing Gnome' 😁

Just looked it up - David Bowie, 1973

Wheniwasyourage Thu 05-Feb-26 16:27:48

They always eat any seeds that I plant, but that seems to keep them off the ones that DH plants. Hmm...

Iam64 Thu 05-Feb-26 12:55:28

I’m safe so far, my dogs bark like the idiots they are, every time the sniff a gnome. The gnomes are setting up next door

pably15 Thu 05-Feb-26 12:48:46

they don't like curry powder...springle some on your garden...they've been heard to sneeze after sniffing it..

It's illegal to exterminate them.
If you try, they will turn rogue and destroy the whole garden.

Blossoming Thu 05-Feb-26 11:22:47

Do you want to exterminate them or just keep them out GrandmaMaples?

Allira Thu 05-Feb-26 11:02:36

They come into my garden, lift up the netting round the figs, eat them and put the netting back afterwards . They strip the leaves off trees and rip open garden cushions and take the stuffing out to line their little houses. They have big eyes and only come out at night, carrying their babies on their backs. They’ve got gnomanners.

Allira Thu 05-Feb-26 10:34:35

Elless

If you install a Fairy Door on the fence or a tree the Fairies will come and sort them out for you.

We had a Fairy door in an apple tree which Grandad helped Granddaughter to make.

Since the tree fell down, and the Fairies moved, we've been losing our vegetables and flowers, now I know why! It's those pesky gnomes.

Fallingstar Thu 05-Feb-26 10:33:11

GrandmaMaples Thu 05-Feb-26 10:33:11

Thank you all for your kind replies! I will take them all into consideration smile

They come into my garden disguised as rabbits. Try cayenne pepper sprinkled around as they don’t seem to like it.
