I think I should frame the seed packets and forget about trying to grow them. They look so pretty in the pictures. The instructions always begin with sow in a prepared seed bed.
Who has this prepared seed bed? This isn't a cry for help just an observation.
Sowing seeds can be quite hard work but very rewarding. However the amount of seeds in packets is ridiculous. The temptation is to use them all but normally loads are wasted.
I bought a packet of antirrhinam seeds last year, when I opened them I thought the packet was empty...the I saw some tiny seeds in the corner...11 seeds..
I throw spare seeds into random pots, the seem to germinate well. When they’re in bud I pop them among the flower beds. Sometimes they do better than the cared for ones.
