WOOT - Here it is, our very own shed ( Thanks GSHQ), real posh one too, no more old doors etc. it may be small on the outside but, inside, WOW, it's a tardis, plenty of room for everyone.
However it's a bit bare atm, contributions to make it homely greatly appreciated. BUT remember it's Granddads' shed, no chintz please.

Hope to see you all from time to time.

Just a quick hello... I have a Grandad's garage... smile

Where I go to "play" and youngest DD age 13 and 11 month old GD come and join me.... mainly playing with car(s)... not just my own and Grannies...

GD points and presses buttons just now and she always "jumps" when I use my air tools or the compressor starts up.... bless her....

It's half term, time for a break DD & I have changed a car radiator so far today, Driveshaft gaiter is next on the list......

Lescombes Hello I have our GS and GD tomorrow so I will pop in with them.
Whie we were having a sort out of our things (moving soon have posted on other thread) we came accross the board game of pictionary which our GC have never played so I will bring that with me, who knows they may love it as it will make a change from all their computer type games .
If GC would rather play "cars" with you that will be fine, Im sure you have the odd chair there I can put my feet up on and have a Zzzzzzzz grin

Hi Guys & Gals, spring has arrived (or is it just a rumour) time to clean out the shed, evict spiders etc. Dust off the deck chairs, plug in the fridge and stock it with some beer & wine. Ahh much better now.

Time for a news update.
Out Grandson is 2 this weekend, saw him last week to have an early birthday. Our Son is running the London marathon this Sunday so we will be there to urge him on, first time he has run more that 10 miles.

His wife's pregnancy is going to plan, we had a scare when she fell down the stairs, but after a scan all was declared well with the baby, she didn't fare so well, broken ankle and some nasty bruising.

Shingles is clear at last, took ages. No change with the tumour, see the consultant in June, but I suspect he will leave it for a year before they scan again. We are trying to lose some weight, sure that will improve our general health, lost a stone to date, but as we are off to Italy next week, that may show a slight blip.

Hope all is well with GNer's. I did hear that there has been some sad news and my thoughts are with you.

Pompa

Pompa its great to hear from you, we have all wondered how things were going. A trip to Italy is something to look forward to and yes I would imagine you both could come home a few pounds heavier grin
Pleased to hear everything was ok after DIL fall and all is well with the baby. sunshine

Just seen this new shed in the garden and cautiously opened the door. Well, I can't believe it and can't wait to get inside...

Gally Thu 19-Apr-12 11:45:30

Welcome papaoscar; the shed isn't that new - in fact I should think it needs a bit of a spring clean if Pompa has been shut in there all winter - so on with the marigolds and get to it.....grin

pompa Thu 19-Apr-12 11:52:52

shockI am house trained !

glammanana Thu 19-Apr-12 12:28:41

pompa nice to hear you have emerged from the shed,I will be popping in more often once my plants arrive as they will need some repotting and help will be required as I am just a novice when it comes to gardening.Have a lovely time in Italy envy last week there was a documentry on TV about the upkeep of the waterways and bridges in Venice it finished with the magnificent firework display that Venice is famous for but I can't remember which channel it was on.confused

Pompa is such a wonderful name for a grandpa. I used to call my grandfather Poopa (because I couldn't say Grandpa). And our grandchildren call DH (who is not in the shed because he has pleurisy) Poppa. Bless ...

PS: Are you sure you're house trained Pompa? Or do you sometimes forget to flush the loo? Only asking.

pompa Thu 19-Apr-12 14:29:51

@ Jack, Pompa has been the name for grandfathers in my family for several generations, just keeping the tradition going.

Flush ???? Loo ???? - Ah ! you mean that bucket I have in the shed, goes on the compost heap when full wink

papaoscar Thu 19-Apr-12 17:46:06

Many thanks, Gally, I'll bring my mop and pinny and some Jeyes Fluid

nelliedeane Fri 20-Apr-12 20:44:57

That's much better, after a good clean up the old shed looks, feels and smells a lot better. As a country member of the Honourable Order of Grandads (or HOGS) it is a real pleasure to be able to look forward to many days of happy banter with other distinguished old HOGS, wallowing in nostalgia and chocolate wholemeals. I am sure that GPS (Grandpa's Shed) will continue to be a happy and manly place far removed (if only for a short time)from the frilly world of femininity. A real refuge of refinement and calm haven of contentment.

poppydee Sun 22-Apr-12 19:42:23

A welcome to your shed parcel is on it's way to you containing:-
one pr frilly pink curtains
A hand plaited plastic bag rug
A hand knitted crinoline teacosy, toilet roll cover

I am going to dig myself a hole and crawl in for a while. My depression has kicked in, seem to have succumbed to the problems around me atm. Hope to be back in a few weeks.
