Hi Samantha and welcome! My daughter was in a similar situation to you. She moved down south after graduation, met her husband, and now has three darling little boys. But we are all 300 miles away, and she has had some lonely times. Since her boys started school, though, life has become much more interesting. She gradually made friends with the other mums, and now is busy most days, with a wide circle of lovely, supportive friends. she still misses home, but is making the best of her situation. This will happen for you, too - just remember, all the other ne mums will be feeling just like you! Good luck!

I didn't realise you had been with us that long, nellie! (Mind you, it does seem as though we've known you forever smile)

Samantha I reiterate what everyone else has said - you are very welcome and I think you're very brave to have started a new life for yourself and your children in another part of the country - that takes courage!

Ariadne Sun 09-Sept-12 21:06:22

Hello, samantha! Come here and chat, and you will find so much support and help. But do believe in yourself too!

Littlenellie Sun 09-Sept-12 19:39:50

Hi nonu we relocate d to avoid problems with E's father.E lives with me permanently...and Norfolk held fond memories of holidays when my children where growing up...how did you end up here ? Xx

Nonu Sun 09-Sept-12 19:39:33

Or even relocate !

Nonu Sun 09-Sept-12 19:31:01

Hi nellie why did you relacate to Norfolk ? smile

Littlenellie Sun 09-Sept-12 19:20:12

Hi samantha ,sorry to hear you are missing your nan,and that support network in your life.
I am an incomer to Norfolk from Essex and know how difficult it is to relocate miles from your friends and family.
Your children sound a credit to you,are you aware of any sure start centres in your area which would give you an outlet to meet people ,and I know as you have said your little boy started school last week, are the other mums friendly.
Rather than one special gran on here you have lots of us to support and give you tips and advice, and in return I am sure you have lots to offer us in return.
I may need a young mums advice on things for my teenage granddaughter, who with me I get it wrong more than right when it comes to fashion etc so perhaps you could advise me,my granddaughter is 13 ...do you drive if we have any meetings that we organise would you be able to join us for coffee etc...
Any way hello and welcome I'm Nelliexx flowers

Samantha...I'm not a Scot [more's the pity] but yes, we're lucky to live in this beautiful country. The Scots are some of the friendliest people we've ever known. Down to earth and good fun [especially after a wee dram!] wink

SAMANTHA1234 Sun 09-Sept-12 13:19:20

soop,it sound's amazing were u live,,my dad came from scotland and i miss his scottish accent!!wink

soop Sun 09-Sept-12 13:18:35

Samantha Your last message has made my day. Well done you. flowers

soop Sun 09-Sept-12 13:17:17

Samantha, I'm prepared to bet that you are NOT the only shy person in a crowd. A warm smile goes a long way. Show genuine interest in another and in time, you will build on your self esteem. We're backing you. One small step at a time. Keep thinking postively. smile

SAMANTHA1234 Sun 09-Sept-12 13:16:25
