Spiders, sewing and sarcophagi

They mummified the banana at school, extracting the contents and filling it with salts (eldest GD was a bit vague on the details) and it is now wrapped in bandages awaiting its tomb. GD wants a banana shaped sarcophagus, but I think that is beyond me. We have bought the gold paper (why is a trip round town with children so exhausting?) and will try the decoupage idea.
Has anyone else got a good half-term project to do?

What about using decoupage on the box and your grandchildren could leaf through magazines to find suitable images, then paste the layers on themselves.

First mummify your banana.

The joys of half-term! Yesterday I taught the DGDs to use the sewing machine, tomorrow we will be carving pumpkins and making spider cakes, but today we have to make and decorate a sarcophagus for a mummified banana. This is the Year 5 Egyptian project holiday task. We have an over large shoe box and a few ideas, but any thoughts / tips would be gratefully received.
