The joys of half-term! Yesterday I taught the DGDs to use the sewing machine, tomorrow we will be carving pumpkins and making spider cakes, but today we have to make and decorate a sarcophagus for a mummified banana. This is the Year 5 Egyptian project holiday task. We have an over large shoe box and a few ideas, but any thoughts / tips would be gratefully received.
They mummified the banana at school, extracting the contents and filling it with salts (eldest GD was a bit vague on the details) and it is now wrapped in bandages awaiting its tomb. GD wants a banana shaped sarcophagus, but I think that is beyond me. We have bought the gold paper (why is a trip round town with children so exhausting?) and will try the decoupage idea. Has anyone else got a good half-term project to do?
