New grandchild in 2013?

I know there are a few of us in happy anticipation of a new grandchild this year. My daughter's baby is due in February and she's chosen NOT to know the gender; although names for either have been chosen and I do like them both very much. I am very excited at the prospect of being present at the birth, as I was with daughter's first baby - and happily my lovely son in law is glad to share the experience.
Who else is an expectant gran/grandfather?

Love the name Persephone. Unlike the weather, very spring like!flowers

Congratulations to new arrivals. I would love more GCs but given that DGS is only just 6/12 I think I am being rather impatient.

I rather doubt if DS will ever produce any with his current partner and if he did I have reservations about how often I would get to see them. She's an odd funny woman! I am sure he would be a very good Dad though.

Oh kitty that's lovely news. Welcome to Persephone and hopefully Bertie won't be too put out to find an addition to the family this morning. flowers

Crikey, that was a quick turn around! I didn't like to ask earlier if she would be called 'Percy' ! grin

So, we got a phone call at ten thirty last night and, as DD3 and family only live in the next village, I drove over in my pjs and fluffy dressing gown - luckily we weren't stopped. grin. At half past five they arrived home!! Persie is lovely with loads of really dark hair. Bertie won't even know they had been out - apart from finding an interloper!!!

Persephone Grace was born at 12.55 this morning. She weighed 7lb 12 oz and looks gorgeous in the photos. I told you it was a corker of a name. wine

Galen - congratulations. I was nearly 39 when I had number 5 and I had also had a miscarriage previously. My 'baby' is expecting her second within a fortnight having had 3 miscarriages previously. flowers

Galen, I too had lost a baby and was 'pushing forty' when my youngest was born - he's now 21 and a strapping lad of six feet. grin
I understand that you still can't help being a bit concerned though......it's a mothering thing I think. smile

Well my DGD now 20/12 is fine, greeted me with ' ikad, in bag!'
It was!
Ikad is the iPad! And it was in my handbag? I'm not sure if its me or the iPad she's pleased to see, but she did enjoy my homemade boiled fruit cake.
That is so easy even I can make itgrin
