Hello all; a second day spent at hospital/her home with daughter and new baby. Lovely. And especially nice was that his other granny hopped on a train and was able to join the party yesterday afternoon and only returned home this evening. It was actually delightful to share some time with the other granny. I do feel privileged to have been invited to be at the birth and happy that my daughter and son in law were so positive about my presence, but I will confess that it was pretty gruesome this time.
Baby Ralph is blossoming and is growing into his nose (!!). Already he's been called Ralph, Ralphie and Rafe - and his parents don't mind at all as they're happy with all variants. My daughter's beloved great grandfather was Ralph, so it has good connotations for the family.
So, Bags, are you next in the queue? Followed by Pollyann, Kazgran and NannaAnna I think.
I shall try and upload a photo now...........

Nice name. I have just acquired a new great niece called Ezri, apparently it's Hebrew for helper!

All I can say is thank god for the possibilty of rapid medical intervention when needed.
My DGS was getting distressed and needed hastening out with forceps.
