New grandchild in 2013?

I know there are a few of us in happy anticipation of a new grandchild this year. My daughter's baby is due in February and she's chosen NOT to know the gender; although names for either have been chosen and I do like them both very much. I am very excited at the prospect of being present at the birth, as I was with daughter's first baby - and happily my lovely son in law is glad to share the experience.
Who else is an expectant gran/grandfather?

MORE NEWS FROM Grannylin!!!
Just heard from Grannylin to say that her granddaughter just pipped Declan to the post by arriving last night in Manchester. Her name is Emily and Grannylin will be hot-footing up to see her at the weekend. Unfortunately she couldn't share the news herself as the high winds have wiped out her broadband. flowers and congratulations for new grannies.

This isn't quite as bad as hanging around at the hospital. The fire is lit, I have a cup of tea - and I'm happily knitting away whilst waiting for news. grin Hope when is getting lots of cuddles right now.

Getting very, very excited! DiL goes down to theatre at 9 am tomorrow, my son will be with her, and has his mobile ready to phone and send a photo. How will I sleep tonight? When you know what's in store - all that fun, those cuddles, first smiles - it's such a wonderful feeling! [greatbighappyemoticon] grin

gracesmum it is hard for those of us who teach isn't it? My lovely daughter in law is now working in a local school and already has 'gone off' one of her favourite names! By the time she needs name for a son or daughter there will be a shortlist of names NOT to be considered.

Marelli Sun 27-Jan-13 11:52:31

I've not been keeping up to date with this thread - my goodness! So much has happened smile. Congratulations to all flowers.

gracesmum Sun 27-Jan-13 10:03:13

Oh names....what a fraught area! Surely there is room for more than one Marmaduke Toadwinkle in the world? If you like a name - why shouldn't you stick with it?
However, as an ex-teacher, I have been put off certain names by association - say no more!
Belated congratulations to all new g/grannies and grannies flowers
