Do you ever get caught out using “baby talk ”?
This is one of DGS Flynn’s favourites especially on his Babyccino.
Earned me a raised eyebrow however this morning at the coffee stall at Bedford station until I explained!

Yes DGD saying pickles to describe her freckles. Also terry for telly. We are still saying our baby talk and loving it. Ah happy memories.

Oh yes, since the visit of a friend's little daughter we now have 'auction puddings' with a roast dinner, and when our daughter was four we started to consume Grussel's snouts with our Christmas meal. grin

Amaloes for animals
Fowlias and or flahlas for flowers.
Many other examples too.

Also I picked up some 'pisspronunciations' from my time as a speech therapist that I've never been able to shake off. One example being squivels for squirrels.
Very infectious speech!

Dear old mum went to the corner shop many years ago and asked for a 'golly-golly' when she meant to say dummy. Kid brother used to make a sound like 'golly-golly' when said item was in his mouth!
She laughed about it but I don't think she ever really lived it down.
