Gotta love 'em ! While family were staying and crafting with my 5 yr old GD I explained I was out of practice so probably the outcome would not be great. With a huge sigh she asked "So what ARE you good at Nanny " .

My nearly 5yo GS asked me how old he will be when I turn 100. I said he would be 39 then and maybe he could then pick me up in his car sometimes, or do some shopping for me? "Oh no grandma, I will be much too busy to do chores for you, and anyway, you'll still be older than me, so yóu will have to take care of mé! "

I stayed with my 9 year old GD last week while her mum had to rush off with a dental emergency. I’ve been battling with my frizzy hair for years and had rushed out that morning to hold the fort not looking my best. She looked at me very intently and asked “Grandma have you put your hair near electricity?”

I agree too. My 3 year old grandson is hysterical. At a wildlife park yesterday there was no sign of the lynx (who had a very large wooded enclosure). A daddy was stood by us and suggested to his disappointed toddler that it was probably hiding in the shade. My gs piped up in a very loud and determined voice "He is DEFINITELY NOT hiding, he has gone to get an ice cream!!!!

I totally agree. I adore being a grandma and have so much fun without the stress of parenthood. It is great.

What a joy it is to have a skip in generations in order to enjoy the GD and not be her mother.

I went for a walk last night with my 10 year old granddaughter whom I do not see very often due to distance and had a good old belly laugh. I hadn’t realised what a wicked sense of humour she has until we began our walk. Well I have never enjoyed a walk so much and nearly cried with laughter on several occasions. I look forward to the next walk with her.
