Hi. Thank you for your welcome messages☺x Can't believe dgs has completely filled our hearts and minds. The parents send lots of pics and clips which we look at constantly even though we are fortunate enough for them to live only 3 miles away and we have seen him lots. Looking forward as you say to lots of fun ahead! !

I was known as Nanna by the seaside, the other was Nanna in the country! I think I had the best name (but there again, she probably does as well).

Welcome to G'net everyone. mancgirl, does your name mean that you either live or originate in Manchester? There are quite a few of us there or thereabouts.

mancgirl Tue 16-Feb-16 20:15:02

Yes I do. Name was a bit of a giveaway I suppose ☺Couldn't think of anything witty like some on here!

annodomini Tue 16-Feb-16 20:35:02

Hi, just joined! I must admit that I didn't realise GN existed until I read an article in the paper the other day. I'm a new Granny of 6 weeks to a beautiful little boy. Looks like there are some interesting topics on the go!

Hi newbies! I've only joined this week too. Must have read same article! Beware, this site is very addictive!

Hello. Just discovered GN after lurking on MN for a while but thinking maybe I'm a bit too old:/ No GC yet (and DC show no inclination) but do have a one year old great niece so hoping that qualifies me! Took early retirement last year after many years teaching 4/5 year olds, so it's a bit strange not being surrounded by little ones but I am loving all the leisure time and discovering lots of new interests. Looking forward to logging on over morning tea (ideally brought to me in bed by DH!) and finding out what are latest discussion topics.

shysal Fri 19-Feb-16 11:15:22

Welcome lolarabbit, you don't need to be a grandparent to enjoy this site. One warning - you might still be in bed at lunch time if you log on at morning tea!flowers

grannymilne Fri 19-Feb-16 11:42:22

Hi Everyone. Apologies for the unimaginative username but every other combination of my name got rejected. I became a granny 3 weeks ago and am in love with my granddaughter already.

shysal Fri 19-Feb-16 13:31:03

How wonderful grannymilne, you have years of fun ahead, with your granddaughter, and with Gransnet! smile

mancgirl Fri 19-Feb-16 16:50:18

grannymilne I became nan 2 weeks ago today.☺. We are already forgetting what it was like before he arrived! We are looking forward to lots of happy times ahead and watching him grow (but not too fast!). Lots to read on gransnet - quickly becomes addictive!

Hi please can anyone help.my grandson one half healthy happy little boy teething. The past day and today its like his back on fire or ants all over neck and back only way i can think to describe as he does speak many words and he scratches hysterical to pull top off scratch nothing consoles him squealing crying for about ten minutes then ok what is this?

Greenfinch Fri 19-Feb-16 21:29:34

Could it be eczema ? You need to take him to the doctor for a proper diagnosis and he will probably give you some cream to relieve the itching. Otherwise ring 111.He could be allergic to washing powder you use.Try another one.

My children called my mother Black Mam, as she had black hair and was Welsh. My husband's mother was Green Mum. We never knew why.
