vic200 Wed 02-Mar-16 10:30:22

Hello all I'm new here and I'm a bit confused ? I don't get all the abbreviations. It's a bit like trying to read Morse code lol?

shysal Wed 02-Mar-16 11:14:10

Welcome *vic200flowers. If you click on the 'Acronyms' box above each thread, you will find a list of the most commonly used abbreviations. They take a bit of getting used to, but they will soon become second nature to you. I hope you will enjoy the site.

Hello, took the plunge and joined. I've been lurking on Mumsnet a bit but it's not quite 'me' smile

Nelliemoser Sun 06-Mar-16 18:57:49

Hello and welcome all you newcomers.

I wish we had had this thread 3ys ago when I joined. I sort of snuck in in early 2012 when DD told me she was pregnant with my first grandchild.
I wasn't sure at the time if I was allowed in unless I was actually a granny. It's generally a good place with the odd row.

Write on what threads you like and just ignore the rest if they get heated.

Excellent advice Nelliemoser

Welcome to the latest newbies.flowers
Lynnieg, I much prefer GN to MN, the 'other place' has far too much content for me to keep up with. It is cosier (usually) on here, hope you will enjoy.
Linollie21, what years of fun you will have with twin GDs!

Linollie21 Thu 10-Mar-16 14:00:43

Thank you ladies for the welcome. I'm enjoying popping on to the various threads on here, far more applicable to me that MN, it makes me feel ancient! Our GDs are coming for the weekend tomorrow and I cannot wait to see them!

Lynnieg Thu 10-Mar-16 19:43:33

Thanks for the welcome, I'll try and spend more time looking around at the weekend.
I have a granddaughter and grandson. 5 and 2. They live quite a distance away so I'm working on being 'Long Distance Unsuitable Nanny' wink

clangers72 Thu 10-Mar-16 21:22:48

Hello, like some others have been on MN, but hope this is more me, have two grandsons age 2 and 3, absolutely the best thing ever being a nanny. hope to look at the forums and see what you all have to say over next day or two.

Pittcity Thu 10-Mar-16 22:09:22

Hello ... I'm a newbie....wrote my first post this afternoon and I feel overwhelmed by the kind words and replies that I have received.....thank you all!
I am currently on sick leave from work and am fed up of daytime tv...now I have something of interest to do....work out the abbreviations on gransnet for a start!!!
I have turned 50 recently and have adult children and two wee grandkids...Iv never done Facebook or any other social media .... I'm not confident with using this iPad....but looks like that's now about to change!...I look forward to getting to know other gransnetters and sharing stories, and the odd glass of red wine too!?

wot Fri 18-Mar-16 19:28:01

Hello Rustic and welcome! You'll soon become addicted to GN. I am!
