I was half way through writing the following when the internet went down this morning. Its only just come back :-(

Good morning all !

Grampy will be with you shortly soop cottage pie is his all time favourite meal and one of his Christmas presents in 2015 was cottage pie once a week for a year !! I stopped eating it in February but he made it all the way through smile

Thanks for the review of La La Land Izabella I can cross that off my list then smile

Trust me soop don't be envious...my house looks a little soulless. We're not very messy generally but I do like to see evidence of lifesmile

Sorry to hear about that for DH Maw but Grace lives up to her name .

Jud small steps indeed but there is still hope for the lovely Georgie. I hope the MRI can be done today and give some positive news.

I'm sorry I missed the sunset Izabella sounds beautiful. I entered my 2 headed duck picture in my camera clubs monthly competition and was quietly pleased until I saw this one with the squirrel this morning. Simply lovely shot.

We are picking young Cooper up after preschool lunch club today ( his first one) for some swimming ! We must be mad. He is very proud of his new lunchbox .

Then babysitting for the Stevie and Laura this evening as both Mum and Dad will be working so its all go today. At least the house will stay tidy for another viewing tomorrow !!

See you all tomorrow !

whitewave Tue 24-Jan-17 17:39:12

jud thanks for the update. If there is nothing obvious paralysing her back legs - maybe its trauma and time (everything crossed) will sort it out.

soop Tue 24-Jan-17 17:35:27

MacSporran is making a fine job of preparing the bedroom floor. The wood flooring will look very smart. Under-floor heating guarantees it will be warm to walk on. Rory has sat close by and has officiated (as only an alpha cat can).

Ironing duty tomorrow morning. As soon as I return home, I shall check for news of Georgie.

Goodnight to you lovely lot. I've ironing of my own to slave over before I can relax for the remains of the day.

MawBroon smile flowers sunshine for your husband and the donor and the NHS. Sorry, I am a little late with the congratulations.

soop Tue 24-Jan-17 12:03:41

A brief pop-in to see if there is news of Bella.

I shall return.

Izabella Sunday's sunset for you. MacSporran took the photo.

Bellanonna Tue 24-Jan-17 09:57:04

What a beautiful description Izabella.

Izabella Tue 24-Jan-17 09:28:18

Absolutely stunning sunrise this morning. Anyone else see it? Pink flushed sky and sparkling trees and fields, a true rhymy realm. Bella watched from the comfort of her window seat needless to say. Our trees just been visited by a flock of long tailed tits chatting nineteen to the dozen. Strangely quiet now they have gone. Even the mallards are quiet and they are usually quacking the world to rights.

Off to make a pot of coffee now, but will leave some on the range for anyone popping in soon. Fruit scone anyone?

callgirl1 Mon 23-Jan-17 23:44:47

All my best wishes are going to poor little Georgie, bless her.

cornergran Mon 23-Jan-17 22:50:03

Thank you for updating us. jud, hope Georgie continues to gain strength. Everything crossed for you all.

Bellanonna Mon 23-Jan-17 22:17:56

Hope she's up to the MRI tomorrow Jud. Anxious time for you all.

MawBroon Mon 23-Jan-17 22:04:32

My heart was in my mouth as I turned to this thread and I can see perhaps "baby steps" forward - breathing unaided, drain out, but poor little Georgie (and her humans) still with a mountain to climb.
Thinking of you all, with everything still crossed for her and for you. ???

Judthepud2 Mon 23-Jan-17 21:51:09

Hello all. Thanks for your continued concern about Georgie. She is having her MRI scan tomorrow as she wasn't up to it today. Still paralysed back legs and orthopaedic vet concerned as he can't see on the ct scan what is causing it. She is now breathing without support and the drain is out. Apparently shoulder bone is slightly fractured but should heal easily. She is very heavily sedated but seemed to recognise us when we came in and licked DH's hand. Poor little thing. She has had an awful time.

The worry now is that she may not regain the use of her back legs. I'll keep you in touch.

MawBroon Mon 23-Jan-17 20:33:31

See my post of Saturday 11.03 crafting it explains everything. smile
DH. has retired to bed to elevate his legs. Still nothing can detract from a significant achievement and anniversary. Especially pleased that one "chum" he made 20 years ago is also fit, well and has never looked back. We sometimes meet up with him at clinic appointments although he comes all the way from the West Country.

Crafting Mon 23-Jan-17 20:22:23

I have been looking back over the last few pages of posts to try and find out why today was a special day for your DH Maw. Now I have read the other thread I know. 20 years on, how thoughtful of you to post about the donor and to encourage others to hold a donor card. I have one and my DH. Congratulations to your DH. As you say a very special day. smile

Crafting Mon 23-Jan-17 20:12:16

Who, what confused. Turn my back for a minute and Grace has a new mum shock. Hello Maw nice to meet you. If Grace is ok with you then I guess that's ok with me too. smile. I do hope DH is ok Maw.

jud we are all rooting for georgie. Hoping for good news.

MawBroon Mon 23-Jan-17 20:00:14

Just to prove Grace is awake sometimes. Showing her superior knowledge during University Challenge !
Big day for DH, pity somewhat marred by a recurrence of cellulitis.

whitewave Mon 23-Jan-17 17:28:10

Nothing about Georgia's scan?

aggie Mon 23-Jan-17 17:20:31

Yes I got that message too ! But happy now we are back smile

callgirl1 Mon 23-Jan-17 17:11:15

Did anyone else lose Gransnet a few minutes ago? I was perusing one of the topics and it went off, all that was left was a page saying the page cannot be displayed, lasted about 5 minutes.

soop Mon 23-Jan-17 16:57:34

It's that time again. I need to log off and knuckle down to some useful tasks aboot the hoos. NanaandGrampy I'm just a little envious of your immaculate house. We are in a guddle. MacS is about to lay wood flooring in the bedroom. There is very little unoccupied space in which to shift the furniture. The dressing table is in the sitting room. Other stuff cluttering the bathroom. Ooops...that means that I really should wait until after the laying of the new flooring. It would be a sorry waste of energy to do otherwise. I shall therefore make a brew and stand alongside Rory who is over-seeing the project. wink

Izabella I've also read glowing reviews of La La Land. I won't be going to see it. The only film that I walked out on just 30 mins into it, was the Exorcist. It scared me rigid, along with several other people clustered in the foyer.
I must try grilled avocado. For lunch I had mine with cottage cheese and an apple. Not very imaginative.

Izabella Mon 23-Jan-17 16:16:39

Good afternoon. Just popped back for news of Georgie. This waiting game is stressful for you jud. Let's hope for a good night and better news from the MRI scan. Bella sends purrs and positive vibes.

Just back from seeing La La Land. I think I can honestly say it is the first film ever I walked out of before the end. The only positive for me was 'knowing' the places it was filmed in having spent to much time over there. I only went as the reviews are so polarised and decided the only way to find out was to go myself. My friends loved it though. Hoping to catch Lion and T2 Trainspotting later this month.

callgirl1. ?

Tea tonight is grilled whole avocado with egg yolk and streaky bacon and whatever else is in the fridge.

soop Mon 23-Jan-17 13:54:04

sunseeker How lovely to be remembered with smiles and laughter. flowers

soop Mon 23-Jan-17 13:44:40

Hello lovely people. The first thing that I looked for on logging on, was news of Georgie. Waiting to hear from the vet must be a nightmare. I know how I would be feeling should Rory be badly injured. Georgie will have known that you were with her. All we could do is wait for the result of the scan. Please may there be a positive outcome.

Callgirl That Mia is an adventurous feline. I bet it was parky in the garage over night. She will have hated being locked in.
I also think that the shared treat of a meal with close family was a fitting tribute to your husband's memory.

cornergran Mon 23-Jan-17 12:54:14

A lovely thing to do callgirl on many levels. Mia certainly keeps you on your toes, why she would think the garage was a good idea goodness only knows, I suspect she will do it again but at least you will know where to look smile.

Not much happening here, a welcome catch up day and for once I have finished the admin, lunch is about ready, a winter-comforting cottage pie with loads of vegetables.
