Oh Izabella these scones look so scrummy, I can almost smell them! Glad you enjoyed your treat day maw, you squeezed so.much into a short time. Funny how a man can't see a tub of soup, mind you I sometimes think it's a ruse to have something less healthy instead
I'm looking forward to a day relaxing with youngest daughter tomorrow, her new boyfriend sounds very promising but I'm having to try really hard not to quiz her too much! Of course I'm keen to meet but no suggestion of that any time soon sigh

What a lovely day you've had, Maw. Salon and Flynn all in one day! He is growing so fast and is such a happy looking baby. Just keep that picture for his first serious girlfriend. ?
Looking forward to the outcome on Friday, greyduster, let us know how it goes. I think the car will be fine, thank you, not new but almost new and easy to reverse so a bonus.
Your day sounds ideal, maw. Have I remembered properly, was it Liz Earle? If so I love those products, treat myself to some now and again, especially the cleanse and polish as it doesn't aggravate the redness I am plagued with. How marvellous to finish the day with Flynn. Perfect. Expect you will sleep well and as a bonus there will be soup for lunch tomorrow.
.
Gosh, Maw, that takes me back, and do I miss it! Now it's all shower gel and hair gel and looking 'cool'!! Your grandson is gorgeous!
Corner the cake has its primary covering but has to wait until Friday now for the good bit (at least I hope it'll be good! We're in trouble if it's not!). We are out most of the day tommorrow. I hope you get on well with your new car. We have just changed ours and I now feel as if I actually want to get on and drive again. I hated the other one. I am calling it a day now. Goodnight folks.
Or when he's 14? He's a lovely little chap!
I bet somebody has scoffed all,the cheese scones!
I have just got back in the last half hour, maybe not a vision of loveliness (?) but on cloud 9 after a lovely day. It was a shame it was a bit rushed as I felt I couldn't get back too late although DH managed to heat up a Waitrose chicken pie for himself, and cook some peas and frozen spinach. I have NO idea what he had for lunch as he claimed he couldn't see the plastic tub of home made veggie soup in the fridge
Anyway my treatment was LOVELY I managed to stay awake through all the cleansing and massaging and steaming and slathering with serum and I don't know what else. Instead of a foot massage (because of the phlebitis) I had a head massage which was equally blissful. I finally shelled out rather a lot of £££on products they had used in an attempt to keep up the good work!
Thence to see little man and DD
His Daddy is in Mexico for some art fair so I think DD was glad of company and an extra pair of hands at teatime and bath time. Newly bathed babies are just perfect aren't they? This iss to embarrass Flynn in 20 or so years at his graduation or wedding!!
Lovely scones Izabella, enjoying one with a celebratory wine, day one and replacement car chosen. We collect on Monday. The relief is palpable.
Charley you surely do go for it. It will all be very swish when it's finished.
Georgie is so adorable jud, every time I see her Mr C gets plagued to change his mind about us having a dog. Sadly he's a man of strong character.
.
n&g that's a stroke of genius. I'm off to the App Store. Can sit on the sofa and not worry about colouring in the arms when I go to sleep relax. Fingers crossed for the viewings, someone will come along, hold onto hope.
How did the cake turn out greyduster? You happy with it? I'm envious, I used to love creating cakes but the hands say 'no', other than very basic icing spreading. Hope you had fun.
Right, off to the App Store.
.
Izabella really ? you know that you should be resting your arm not cooking for us ooh, cheese scones, yummy I'm really cross with you
Cheese and paprika scones. Go on then, if you must. Thank you, Izabella.
NanaandGrampy I like the way your latest house agent is on the ball. One of these days, we shall pop the Champagne cork and go wild with joy have a quiet celebration.
Maw Us lot are betting that you are wearing a big smile. Do share all the details, when you've time.
Charleyg Onwards and upwards. Just imagine how relieved and pleased you will be when all the workmen pack up for the last time and buzz off to the next job Do you remember the song - 'Silence is Golden'...I for one, agree.
I have to dash. Running a bit behind my usual schedule. Love to you all. I hope to be back tomorrow.

Izabella how much paprika do you put in cheese scones? I usually use mustard powder but would like to try paprika as I've never heard of it before. I love cheese scones.
Izabella you should know as well as I do that the affected arm should be in a sling and you take it out of the sling for 5 minutes each hour to exercise it and that does not include making delicious cheese scones!!! There endeth the lecture. Please do rest, you have had one hell of a shock. Pleased to hear that the bike is okay.
NanaandGrampy you appear to have a much better estate agent with two viewings in the one day. Somebody must like the house one would have thought. You have spent so much time and effort getting it up to viewing standard, fingers and toes crossed. I hope Sam's nose has not been put out of joint unless Grampy walks him during viewings. I would love an animal in the house if I was viewing but I realise that some people would run a mile.
The builders were back today and I am having all of the flooring changed in the 3 bedrooms and landing upstairs. It is being done on Friday- I may as well get it over and done with and then I can retire to bed in a darkened room for a few months to help pay for it all. Their work to date has been outstanding so I may as well strike while the iron is hot.
izabella what a dreadful accident. Glad you are feeling a bit better. It must have been quite a shock. Glad your bike is ok but I trust you are not going back on it just yet ?!
jud thanks for the photo of poor georgie. Hope she will improve and be able to get around better. She looks so sweet.
maw hope you had a good time
Good luck with the viewings N&G (life is a bit busy of late and last time I looked Grampy was in the doghouse. Trust he's been let out by now)
I have spent the morning ironing for my pal. It earns me some much appreciated pocket money, for which I'm grateful.
Every single post from you lovely lot reaffirms the value of contributing to Gransnet. I have no wish to take part in the argy-bargy forums. People often gravitate towards a site that suits their personality. I'm not a debater. I hope that I fall into the category of comforter. Jud needs all the comfort she can muster. Izabella likewise. It's what we do best. And long may it be so.
I've nothing new to add. Apart from saying that the sun is shining brightly, and the sea is calm. I wish that I could share
with each and every one of you.
Hello all kitcheners! Nice to be in here again.
Izabella you sound to be more comfortable since your accident; that is good to hear, and that you are well enough for a gentle walk (that's my yardstick for recovery too!). Take it easy.
jud it must be very frustrating for Georgie, bless her, and it sounds like a long haul. It's a pity there isn't some sort of "chariot" you can attach to her back end to give her a bit more mobility! She's obviously raring to go. Let's hope she'll start to improve soon.
I am having five minutes and a cuppa while my icing sets. It's a good job the sides of this cake are supposed to look "rustic" - because they certainly do! I made the mistake of not putting a 'crumb coat' on yesterday when I sandwiched it together. can you get cake decorators lung from breathing in clouds of icing sugar? I may have to take to my bed!
If you are around, soop, my best to you and McS! ?
I see that the vet is nowhere near you, but perhaps there is a vet nearer who may use hydrotherapy.
Galen my DF (also a Navy man) told me that ships are feminine because when they come into port they always head for the nearest boy buoy.
Boom boom!
MawB I hope you had a lovely relaxing time yesterday, it sounds lovely.
Jud I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this but I think Nigel (Monty Don's dog) recovered quite well and had hydrotherapy as well as physiotherapy.
There is an article but it is in the Daily Mail
please excuse:

I want to come and give her a big cuddle !
Afternoon all!!
Just finished another viewing . Lovely family and they brought Mum along too. So nice and tidy , and another viewing at 7pm !
Glad you enjoyed your treat soop . Totally agree with you about the culture of being famous for being famous. I can honestly say( with some pride) I have NEVER watched Celebrity Big Brother . Apologies to those who enjoy it but it just isn't my cuppa !
Enjoy your lovely present Maw hope your leg isn't troubling you .
corner do you have an iPad ? They have adult colouring apps for free on their and they are very easy to do but very relaxing ( and you can undo mistakes) . Might be worth trying .
Hello Nellie . I have decided is too short for the political threads ...I just don't care enough to get shot down in flames
..... cake ????
Loved the picture soop ..glorious !
Glad to hear from you Izabella you are in the wars but I did smile to read your bike is ok!! Only a keen cyclist would say that .
Oh Jud what a lovely picture of poor old Georgie . You must wonder what she makes of it all. Fingers crossed for some more improvement .
Stay well all x
Thank you for all your helpful suggestions re Georgie. I am taking them on board. We are having a slightly better day as we gradually establish some sort of way of going. G is full of energy and desperate to get up and running. The spirit is willing but the legs are weak! Here's a photo of the patient.
Glad to hear you are coping with your injuries Izabella and that the pain is under control. You have had some damage to contend with!
MawB I hope you have a lovely spa day. I do love getting vouchers for these but haven't had one for a while. So relaxing! Could do with one now. Must go as Madam is demanding some food.
I do love a good puzzle Galen
There's a dog I see regularly who has his back legs in some sort of contraption that has wheels attached. His back legs are suspended above floor level and he trundles along quite happily on his daily 'walkies'
Thanks for the MvF explanation. A boat always seems to be male in French, from in bateau aux voile to a liner
Pleased to hear from you Izabella, your accident sounded very serious. Saddened and worried by your experience of A&E. Havent been near one for about 20 years (she says touching every piece of wood within distance), so efficient back then, treated within an hour professionally and with compassion. Your decription is of another world. Your dentist sounds a real star, it must have been a relief to see her and know she could treat you. Hope you continue to progress, take care.
Oh, good to hear from you Izabella. What a lovely upbeat attitude you have too. May you continue to improve quickly. I can't remember, but are you due to go on a backpacking adventure later this year? Or did you say you'd been? If still to come I hope you will be fully fit by then. I'm sure attitude helps a lot.
Re A&E we were there last Monday between 6.30 and 1.45 (night). Those plastic chairs start to feel very uncomfortable after a while. 84 y.o. DH had chest pain on a background of heart problems and underfunctioning single kidney. He did get triaged pretty quickly and appropriate tests taken, but those had to e repeated and it was waiting for lab results that took the time. We were put into a small waiting area on a Decisions ward - I think it was called that - and the nurses were very busy. Problem is, too few of them. No doubt the lab, working overnight, could have done with more staff too. I feel grateful that we were seen and given the best care available in these poor circumstances. I can understand your dismay at how things have changed since you worked. Still, it's good that you are cheerfull and on the mend, as is the bike. I'm guessing it may be a while before you can get back on the bike, but meanwhile enjoy the walking and stay cheerful. ?
A humble and heartfelt thank you for all the thoughts and wishes. Each and everyone much appreciated. you lot certainly know how to cheer folk up.
Much more comfortable since I saw the consultant who manipulated my hand and applied a new plaster. Off the heavy duty stuff now and taking co-codamol. So impressed with the regional HAnd Centre, brilliant job.
It is however a few years since I have been in an A/E unit and I have to say as a previous sister who worked in one I was overcome by the dreadfulness of the situation these days. My own wait was over 5 hours but people (mainly elderly and alone) on trolleys all over the place. Ambulances queuing and paramedics etc unable to be released to help others. It wasn't Blackburn but it was exactly the same as the documentary. Chilling
So the bike is OK after a f ew adjustments apparently and I am managing extremely well with minimal support needed. The hero in all this is my lovely dentist who opened up her surgery on Sunday for X Ray's and treatment on 3 teeth, plusvarious bit s of smoothing and filing. I have periodically grumbled about my Denplan payments, but Sunday proved them worth every penny.
A gentle walk later 'cept it is spitting already.
