Did I mention DD1's new kitchen and the Island saga? The carpenter brought the new top to replace the collapsing one and had stained it completley the wrong colour. He had also been commissioned to make stools for the breakfast bar - he made the wrong ones. He was supposed to bring the correct items today while I am there but isn't!! DD rang on her way to work this morning and, from the temper she was in, I doubt she would have needed to use petrol to propel the car.

Just a flying visit as I have to get to Derby to do the school run but, wot, I echo what everyone else says - good riddance. I'm sure you feel a bit funny at the moment but look on it as a big new adventure, doing your own thing. And, chunter to us if you need to.

Whatever happened to voice recognition software? Anyone remember that? Talk to the computer and put all the typists and WP operators out of business? RSI a thing of the past? When I was working, one of my bosses had it downloaded onto his computer at home. He always had an eye to the coming thing in tech. His wife had to correct all the stuff it misinterpreted and threatened to divorce him unless he stopped using it - which he did! Hope your hands are feeling better soon, Charley.

I missed my breakfast this morning (on purpose), and was hungry about an hour ago. DH said he would make me a healthy snack. "Oh, good oh!” I thought, "how kind". He brought me a raw carrot wrapped in kitchen paper. More training needed I think..... I made myself a corned beef sandwich instead. Bloody carrot indeed!! I was tempted to deposit it somewhere painful about his person.
I have a small plum tree in my garden with a patch of bare, soft soil around it. The sparrows are having a field day dust bathing in it. They're there most days. I was going to plant it up, but maybe I'll leave it. They seem to prefer it to the bird bath. School run soon! I'll look in later.

I have kept a low profile because of my bilateral tenosynovitis all fingers and wrists from spending too much time on this machine.

Not a word since Sunday pm. He had an appointment at the local hospital on Monday so I do not know if he is at home, doing other work, admitted or dead. I had my first lie in today until 7.30am for many weeks.

The boss is coming I think next week with two guys he has recently employed to sort out all of the problems. It will take 3 of them at least a day because no room is perfect. I will let you all know which day to remain indoors because with what I have to say you will hear my dulcet tones many miles away. I must warn the GNs with whom I have coffee locally monthly- they may wish to take a day trip to France to avoid the flak. I do have heating in every room which is a major bonus.

This job started in February, it is almost May. I am 300% certain that the general feeling was that this old biddy will not notice, what does she know about anything, we will take the money and run. Luckily two have principles, one of them being the new owner.

My snagging list resembles the first few chapters of a book.

wot I do hope that Sophie is feeling better. That old git will notice the draft when he has to switch on a kettle- that is if he knows how to do that. Good luck .
