Many healthcare providers have SAR forms that you can complete and return by email or by post. Here is an example of an SAR form on the North Bristol NHS Trust website.
You may have to pay a fee to access your medical records. Find out how much you'll have to pay to see your records.
An SAR should be met within 40 days. However, the healthcare provider should aim to get back to you within 21 days.^

Thank you, Elegran...we shall wait to see whether we get a response from our latest letter and the same goes for the GP's call to both the private hospital and the consultant, who said she'd look into matters for me approx. 7 weeks ago. If nothing comes of either request, I shall visit this website and take matters further. x

oldgoat The puffer on the Crinan canal is, or was, the famous 'Vital Spark'. Prunella Scales and Timothy West puffed along the canal. It was featured in a programme of their canal journeys on television.

Mildred I have repeatedly asked for the records of that particular private hospital stay. Not once has anyone returned my call. The GP has also requested the information. The last specialist that I saw in Glasgow, has also asked to see the record. I refuse to give up until I have a response. Thank you for the link.

Hope you find a lovely bungalow NandG. Where we live many families are looking for houses so their children can get places at the excellent local state schools. Consequently, bungalows are snapped up and converted into two storey houses before we oldies can get our hands on them. Every week we have notes through the door asking if we are wanting to sell.

N&G congratulations on the sale! I must have missed that post and I wish you tons of good luck in finding your new home. My old house had a narrow steep staircase, as did all the houses in the street. As a result a lot of elderly neighbours had made the front 'parlour' into their bedroom, with living room, kitchen and bathroom behind. I'm now in an bungalow and it's great. I know doctors advise climbing stairs is good exercise but it's not right for everyone. I believe Norfolk is pretty flat but do watch out for hills

N&G how I envy you having a new adventure and a new bungalow. I hope you find just what you want. Bungalows have a premium price here.
Things very hard here. H wants to be with me all the time, I know how insecure he feels but it is so wearing. I actually screamed at him to get out of the kitchen yesterday when he picked up the vegetable knife I was still using for about the 4th time and took it to the sink to wash it.
Fortunately he has forgotten in 2 minutes that I have shouted at him, unfortunately he comes back and does it again. That is when I go to the loo for the 4th time in an hour.
He does now doze a lot in a chair and can be away soon after breakfast.
We have a good morning weatherwise and yesterday was lovely and quite warm. I hope it foretells a lovely summer for us all.

Any excuse to celebrate in this house, so a family lunch is planned. But Nana's taxi service first !! SiL is not driving yet so we will be ferrying the little ones to swimming lessons and our buyers have asked to comeback at 2;30 with their children to show them the new house.

I understand Sunday for a working family is a good day to come but we had hoped for one viewing free Sunday. NOT that I'm complaining....:-)

Our DD had a bit of meltdown on Friday evening , both boys were ill but not at the same time, SiL is close to being a mound under the patio as her sympathy is fast running out and then we told her we had sold the house !
She's resigned to it now but not liking it one little bit. It adds to my guilt

I know we will miss them Kitty but we need a bungalow before I just can't do the stairs, and we just cannot afford one in Essex unbelievably. Also , Cooper starts preschool every day in September so we will go from seeing the boys during the week to only at weekends and holidays , the other two due to school commitments etc we only see twice a month when we babysit other than family things and I cannot just sit around waiting to be of use

So we need to move , and not be the centre of their lives but more an enjoyable add on. I am still wavering because I'm sure you're right but Grampy feels this is a new adventure and I am sure he is right too. It will take some adjustment on all sides but we will have to do it.

Soup just a thought about your medical records can you not request a copy of them. I thought if they were held on computer you were entitled to see them something to do with the Data Protection Act possibly? You probably have thought of that will go back to my corner quietly.

I've just looked up how fast Spring travels up the UK - it's 1.9mph, so it takes three weeks to go from the south west to the north east.

Thanks for the tip about the Crinan Canal walk soop. Do they still have puffers using the canal? Yesterday we had a delightful walk along the Huddersfield narrow canal. The sun was shining, trees just coming into leaf and lots of bluebells and primroses. I love this time of the year.I wonder whether we could plan a trip in the campervan, moving north a week at a time and make spring last for a couple of months?
