Engineer has worked tirelessly but no joy. Might fix things tomorrow (aye, right!). It's since the rest of the village got upgraded to superfast broadband that the problem (well, the latest one) has occurred. Village has superfast and the Soops have nothing. Humph! Soop is missing GN "something rotten". I've sent hugs from you all.

I meant he's all excited buying bits and pieces for his new abode. Sometimes I feel paranoid about this kindle changing my words. I quite admire seagulls...naughty but beautiful!

Would anyone like a little holiday in a Norfolk cottage looking after a lurcher? I need a change of environment for a while.

Partner saga.....He's chosen a one bedroom house and is all excited over hummingbird and pieces for it. I, meanwhile, keep fretting about what he needs to the extent that I feel exhausted and I can't eat. Is it an unfulfilled maternal instinct or a control issue?? Anyway, the puppy party was really lovely!

I presume they've taken him to the GP if it's a regular occurrence. The trouble is, if he does it in school and then smells the other children could be unkind. At least your DGS was very kind to him - donating his superman pants!

I know what you mean Jalima , they were a 10 min walk from home so there was nothing for it so I'm sure that didn't help .

My daughter tried desperately to make him feel better and Jackson donated his superman pants to the cause but I think it was all too much by then .

I think the world's gone nuts about touching children .A distraught child used to cuddles at home would feel worse if when upset he was just told there there there ! And don't get me started on not giving a plaster for a playground graze lol

Sadly Grey he didn't tell anyone but like you , I thought an adult in the glass might have noticed . My daughter knew the moment she saw him simply by the way he was walking, poor little love .

Maw, Paw has my sympathies .Grampy had a close call a while ago and now gets concerned if he feels like that when we're out.Shame about the shandy though

How old is he? They used to keep a bag of spare clothes in school in case of accidents, at least in nursery and infants. Perhaps his mum could send him to school with some spare clothes in his bag and if the teacher is made aware this could happen a teaching assistant could help him - if they're allowed to touch the child of course!
DD used to work in a special needs unit and this was one of the tasks she had to get used to.

Some of this healthy stuff makes me feel quite queasy Galen although I do like yogurt. Kombuch has never appealed to me and too much 'fermented food' which is supposed to be the latest to keep your insides healthy.

Strange this topic should come up, we have just made a sharp exit from a pub lunch (fortunately only in the next village ) because Paw has had an attack of what you might delicately call a "gastric upset " He has UC and this can happen if he has a flare up.
Pity, he hadn't even got half way through his fish and chips and no point in a doggy bag. I had to leave half a glass of lemonade shandy

My equilibrium is pretty much restored after spending a lovely morning with my precious storytime group - where gaining just a smile can be a joy. Today I had a mature trainee with me who was reduced to tears!

Have come home & had a quiet lunch (and two choccy biccies ) to complete the restoration.
Greyduster - I only had the biccies 'cos I couldn't quite reach your scrummy-looking cakes!
Galen - have a lovely cruise,(I have a retired neighbour who periodically works as a dance partner on some "long haul" cruises. He has lots of tales but is always very discrete about actual identity of his "ladies"

N&G I can't get my head around how the child was made to sit for an hour in soiled clothing. I presume they made some attempt to clean him up, but you would have thought they could find him something clean to sit in. Poor little chap. Thank goodness for your daughter. My DD had an incident last year when they took GS and a friend for a walk in their local woods one weekend. He soiled himself because he was too embarrassed to ask where he could go to the toilet (he obviously hadn't heard what bears do!). DD always carries a clean up kit, mostly for mud and blood (GS gets nosebleeds), so she managed to make him more comfortable, but she was a bit nonplussed. Still, when you gotta go, you gotta go! His poor mother was mortified when they took him home wearing some of GS's undercrackers and a pair of his shorts.
If my horrible day gave you a chuckle, at least something positive has come out of it! I was all for putting my fishing gear on eBay last night, but feel more sanguine this morning!

Afternoon all !

Fasting blood test this morning. Why is it whenever that happens with say a 9pm cut off --- I want a late night snack ??? Sods law I guess.

Funnily enough, one of my daughters has astro turf in her tiny garden and I totally get it. No mud all year round ( and her kids are big on the outside even in bad weather). No mud on the dogs. They even hoover it in the summer to pick up leaves etc. I think it has its place. So I'm with you ann if gardens aren't your thing then it makes a lot of sense.

Survey done . Just have to wait for any feedback so that's another thing out of the way.

I shouldn't laugh at your day grey but it did raise a smile or three !

The thing is maw without the down days the up days would be less bright. So embrace them all because its that which gives cadence and rhythm to life ( oooh get me coming over all poetic !!)

Jackson and Coopers Mummy has been doing some after school child-minding for one of Jackson's little friends from school. The poor little lad had an accident yesterday at school, and sat in his soiled clothes for an hour before home time. My daughter spotted it immediately and took him upstairs once they got home to clean him up privately. The poor lad sobbed his heart out and eventually his Mummy had to come home early to get him.

Apparently , this happens a lot and he is not yet dry at night. Any words of wisdom? I suggested that she encourage Jackson to show positive habits but beyond that not a clue. Its not something we have struggled with yet.

I might pop the question out on the boards and see if anyone has more experience in helping with older children's toilet training.

Well, its a day of rest here ....so pass me a cake please .....or two !!

Openreach engineer flummoxed. soop is trying to 'think Zen' about it all. I've suggested she invest in a smart phone.
The Soop house is spotless, apparently. Unlike mine. Weather's been too good of late to waste on indoor chores. Slurping tea and am off out again in a minute.
