I had a trip into town today as a way of escaping from tile samples that are making me cross eyed. We have a very helpful tile showroom who, when you choose a sample, say "Oh you might want to try that one with this one as well", and you end up with so many that ones and this ones that you forget which ones they suggested went with which. I'll be seeing them in my sleep soon. Anyway, I got some books for the library and sat in the Winter Gardens which was very calming and tropical.

For lots of reasons, including ill health, I have not posted on Gransnet since February. I have occasionally checked up what is happening but felt reluctant to come back 'on board'. Scrolling through I saws this thread and remembered how lovely everyone was to each other here, no election stuff, no criticism, no back stabbing, just friendliness.

So can I snuck in and be part of the GN community again ?

When I was working, I walked from the car to the tube station, on the tube at rush hour and walked along a busy street in central London with my skirt tucked into my knickers. It was a male work colleague who noticed. I have never forgotten that.

So pleased to see you back soop - it shows how addicted we are to the machines. I missed mine something rotten when I had no internet connection for nearly a week.

Okey dokey...I'm back with you lot and I have to admit that I've missed you something rotten.

Engineer has just this minute discovered that, at the exchange in the village, "someone" had connected us to the new super-fast broadband that we are unable to use (because we're a tad too far from the village). Something that was discovered a few weeks ago when we lost broadband for well over a week.

As per usual, MacSporran has made a friend of yet another engineer. I kept a low profile. Tidied the bedroom cupboards yet again.

There are 140 plus emails. It is going to take some time for me to catch up. Please be patient. It's been a long time!

I once went to work in shoes which were the same as each other - but two different colours. My boss pointed it out very kindly

Just back from taking Paw to his INR clinic and then the Dr.( I now have to give a lot of assistance with dressing etc and it was a scramble but we made it.)
I was wearing my navy Joules gilet which is ideal for coolish mornings but how thrilled was I to come home after sitting the health centre waitingroom, going in to the doctor with him, walking round to Boots for his meds, sitting and waiting there, walking back to the car and driving home -
to be told I've been wearing the bloody thing inside out
I must have looked totally confused and bewildered, poor old dear ?? and I am cringing. again.

The weather here is beautiful, fresher than of late but lovely blue skies.

I had a lie in until 8.30am today, I think that Tara sensed that I was a lady not to be disturbed. Two were here yesterday, it is a very long not amusing story why nobody is coming today.

Good morning, cornergran, your election cupboard made me laugh. It seems we have been mid politics since David Cameron put his jolly referendum to we, the people. Was Brenda from Bristol in your hiding place? I can see the appeal of a space with tea, cakes and no politics.

I`ve just started getting rid of toys, even though it`s 5 years since I last child minded grandchildren. The youngest is only ever interested in video games now, or finding (in my opinion) daft stuff on YouTube.

Not a bad day here in York - I actually wore my shorts again, first time since we returned from our sunny holiday in Scotland. It was our village Scarecrow Festival this weekend and guess what? the Oldgoats actually won!!! Here is a photo of our display 'Scrufts dog agility contest '.
It is also Oscar's first birthday so I'm letting him have one of the stuffed dogs from the display to -rip up- play with.

I probably should get out more but I have never heard of a Pagani Zonda. My pension is not quite in the Maserati league so that may well be why I have not heard of the Pagani Zonda. The amount of Jackson's pocket money appears to be enviable.
