oldgoat nothing short of dynamite would work for me after cocodamol and in a caravan not easy. Good luck with the rest of the holiday.

oldgoat Wed 24-May-17 21:59:10

What's all this talk about fans? Fan-heaters required in Kintyre. Perhaps we are just Southern softies but, in the words of the song "the sun'll come out, TOMORROW " fingers crossed.
The back seems to be less painful. Thanks for all the kind wishes and thanks also to copious quantities of co-codamol . OH and I had a trip to a local supermarket to stock up on high- roughage food having been warned of the possible dire consequences of taking codeine....
soop MacSporran must have known he was on to a looser trying to lure Rory into the cat carrier! Hope the eye will get better without the vet's attention.

Galen Wed 24-May-17 21:47:57

At least downsized and my self have the cruise to look forward to.
I really really want to go to Ciprianis restaurant on torcello, but feel the launch there and back will cost me 2arms and 2 legs! Can't use vaporetti in Venice!
Still, as it's probably the last time I'll go ashore in Venice?

Greyduster Wed 24-May-17 21:20:47

Lovely photos, Soop. If your lovely McS cannot entice Rory into the cat carrier, can he take my DH instead because he also has a weepy eye - well, not weepy, but very red and gritty. He's been wearing sunglasses all day and has been a proper pain. I had to be duty driver and don't drive our car very often but because I made one tiny, not life threatening, mistake on a rush hour roundabout I had to suffer twenty minutes of nitpicking until I threatened to stop the car, get out and leave him and his dodgy eye to it. I was quite enjoying myself until then! He is usually a most amenable man - it must be the weather this week that has made him into a paranoid blinkered old grump. Anyone want a lodger? I am housetrained (just)!
I feel ashamed to whinge about him, when there are those of you who would give your skin to have your DHs there to whinge about, so do forgive me. ?
N&G I have absolutely no doubt that you can hold your own against those who choose to jump on you. You have ”stern stuff" in your history and will stand your ground!
Time for a sundowner, I think.

NanaandGrampy Wed 24-May-17 21:15:55

We were just saying the same thing rose , it's fan time!

I am so sorry Ann , like most people I want to offer 'solutions' but I can't think of anything to help , so the best I can do is send a hug xx

What craft do you do Posh?

PoshGran Wed 24-May-17 20:48:48

Greetings all... busy trivial day today.
Haircut for me, return to Poshtowers & cut green stuff pretending to be grass, shower, sandwich, out to craft group (fun as usual, this week eying up workmen in car park (again)), home, Mr Supermarket delivery, meal for OH & his little friend (they're out playing nicely this evening), phone big bro, feet up, virtual wine.

thatbags - DD & I can't share clothes as (according to her, because she's had a colour consultation) she is silver & I am gold. (Yeah, right, told her years ago our skin tone was different!) So now she's platinum (!!) & I'm 18ct. She's lovely really. Having said that, I do still wear (at home because they're disreputable as well as comfy) a couple of DS shirts - think Hawaian paint factory grin
Is the housing market picking up then - with the warmer weather? We've had 2 estate agents putting flyers through this week, so someone local must be on the move. Hope both soop & greyduster that new neighbours turn out well - take'em a slice of cake from the Kitchen(or local hostelry). Galen - keep fingers crossed!
Running out of quiet time...
...to those in pain, feeling bruised or low, to those caring for others...to all Kitcheners..... kind thoughts & wishes.
smile

My GD has visited today. She was upset that I was walking like an old lady. I am an old lady and my legs were playing up. My H has driven me to distraction today, I wanted to walk out and never come back.
We have had a long talk about it , he will not do it again.
Two minutes later, all forgotten.
Downsized, you should have had many more years with your lovely Husband and I feel so sad for you.
In a marriage of 59 years and counting, we had many years of real happiness, that is not relevant now. Things are so different and so very, very sad.

rosesarered Wed 24-May-17 20:11:57

Thank you peeps, but am not germ carrying (yet!)
Oh, was that Rory on the chaise Soop I nearly sat on him, thought it was a hat!
Not keen on muffins crafting but that coffee cake soop is having looks good.smile
Oh it ain't half hot Mum, I must get the fans out from the loft.phew!

NanaandGrampy Wed 24-May-17 20:08:07

Lol the funny thing is the most outspoken never appear anywhere else quite often Maw.

I am perfectly happy to be 'gran like' ?. I read somewhere that with all these new 'genders' those of us who are firmly men or women will be the ones who end up fighting for our rights- grim thought eh?

MawBroon Wed 24-May-17 19:58:18

I am amazed at how many people have jumped on nanaandgrampy on that thread about "gender fluidity" shock
Do you think some grans are so afraid of appearing "gran like" that they go 110% the other way as "right on trendy" types?

Don't answer if this risks becoming contentious as that does not belong in the kitchen just thinking aloud really.
(Will get back to knitting my Shreddies now )

cornergran Wed 24-May-17 18:31:16

flowers for downsized and all sad people, whatever the reason.

MawBroon Wed 24-May-17 18:17:42

flowers downsized - I can't believe it has been so long and you have been through so much more even since then x

MawBroon Wed 24-May-17 18:16:03

You remind me of Phyllida Law, Soop - only much much younger!

Swanny Wed 24-May-17 18:06:21

downsized (((hugs))) for you. Today would have been my parents' wedding anniversary. Dad died when I was in my teens and Mum lived on nearly 40 years without him. I feel more sad for her today than I do on the actual anniversaries of either's death.

downsized Wed 24-May-17 17:56:37

Two years today since my DH died. Just another day without him, but what with the ghastly happenings in Manchester (where I spent two years at college ), I have felt rather gloomy.

soop Wed 24-May-17 17:18:34

Before I go, I shall share a rather charming photo of the two men in the house. smile moon

soop Wed 24-May-17 17:13:09

I was thinking about pedalling the exercise bike for a wee while. Thinking about it, tired me out.

MacS has been trying to coax Rory into the cat carrier. He wishes to take him to the vet because he has a weepy eye. Rory sat in the kitchen. MacS was the other side of the kitchen door. Seems like Rory has got his own way yet again...nothing new there then.

soop Wed 24-May-17 17:07:23

Galen We could have a whip round. I'm worth approximately £20.

soop Wed 24-May-17 17:06:10

oldgoat My neck looks awful scrawny! Not your fault. wink We shall be at the Black Sheep (well, the other bar,) on Friday. The sea is mirror-like. I'm finding it a bit "muggy" as I've been attempting to clean (in all the corners of the hoos) before the wedding trip. We're both sending healing vibes for your poorly back.

oldgoat Wed 24-May-17 16:17:16

soop We are sitting outside The Black Sheep Pub in Campbeltown having coffee (no alcohol allowed with the medication). So I'm taking advantage of the free wifi to post this photo of you enjoying your dainty slice of cake - third attempt! Hope it works this time.

MawBroon Wed 24-May-17 16:15:18

At that price Galen we could have TWO!

Greyduster Wed 24-May-17 16:11:58

Sorry Galen, I'm saving up for a new fishing rod bathroom!

Galen Wed 24-May-17 15:31:05

Good news folks!
The bungalow has been reduced in price!
It's now a snip at £735000
Can we all buy it now?

soop Wed 24-May-17 14:46:57

Maw I was also wondering how Charlieg is.
