Here we go again...

Bellanonna Tue 22-Aug-17 09:21:08

What a handsome pair of males, Grey !

Bellanonna Tue 22-Aug-17 09:18:51

swanny your last para resonates with me. Hope things feel better for you soon.
Ah, Maw, one of the downsides of hospitals. Poor man has so much to cope with and by default so do you. Hope the c.diff clears soon. Meanwhile I hope Hattie is bringing some lovely canine joy into your life! Bless her.

Greyduster Tue 22-Aug-17 09:18:05

Well, I have had a Charley moment this morning. Just wrote a long post - where has it gone? Who knows!! Anyway, deep breath; let's have another go.
Iam I keep telling DH that he should get a blood test for arthritis because the joints in some of his fingers are swollen and painful sometimes. It is like banging my head against a brick wall! Perhaps now he might listen but I doubt it.
Maw I am so sorry to hear Paw is in the throes of another "nasty". Let us hope they get him sorted out and back in track soon. My BF had it and ended up in hospital for weeks. She had been taking antibiotics for a viral infection that wouldn't go away. The two were somehow linked.
N&G I loved your photos if he boys - they look very comfortable with the baby (will they be asking for one for Christmas I wonder?), and the gifts were spot on! Ten years on, we still have muslin squares that GS used over here. They are still most useful for when Grandad eats spaghetti! My DiL's niece had her first baby this year, and when they went to visit for the first time, my son was adamant that, not being used to babies, he would definitely not be holding him. Well, guess what.....? Looks like love at first sight to me!

NanaandGrampy Tue 22-Aug-17 08:55:58

Morning all,

Sorry to hear Paw has another cross to bear. Hopefully it can be cleared up quickly.

I'm with you Swanny I too dislike the shorter days. Its when we get to the place where its dark when I get up and dark by 4:30pm that I really hate it .

ah Charley superhero muslins are the muslin squares Mummies find so useful for many things but these have tiny little batman and robin on them !! Much thought went into their gift purchases with them giving things they really love ( Like bacon Frazzles !) . We will pop over in a couple of weeks as they want to check when Finley can come out to play !!

I had a moments regret yesterday too Ann . Tiny babies are my favourite thing ( being not too mobile , they stay where you put them smile ) . I'm not too sure there are any more in our near future so it was nice to get a cuddle.

I do hope you have a wonderful lunch ( I hope the 'baby' behaves!!)

We are off to take Sam to the vets for his yearly vaccination. He is in fine form after his recent illnesses , the new food is now great and he has lost the edge on his sugar-high energetics which makes him a much nicer boy.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to a peaceful day ( now come out and shine for a bit sun !!)

Happy day all !

Another one here missing babies in the family.
Youngest GC is 6 now and there will be no more. Have only seen the grandpup twice and never seen the beautiful cats although they are 2 and a half., so I love seeing the photographs.
Out to lunch today with 2 neighbours I have known for nearly 50 years. None of us can quite believe it, the "baby" will be 79 next month and the other one will be 80 in October, just where does time go?
Hope for better news of Paw, my friend picked up C. diff whilst in hospital having had a colostomy ( later thankfully reversed) she was very ill and had 6 weeks in hospital.
She is now a picture of health and does several long haul holidays a year, but she had no underlying health problems like Paw does.

aggie Tue 22-Aug-17 08:25:51

OH and I have finished up our porridge , and very nice it was too. , now he is rummaging through his pockets to pay the waiter lol . So sorry to hear of paws latest worry ! We don't,t have any pets now no babies on the way so I am enjoying the lovely pictures here

harrigran Tue 22-Aug-17 08:20:43

Sorry to hear of paw's latest setback, let's hope they get it sorted asap.
Lots of lovely photographs of babies smile

Iam64 Tue 22-Aug-17 07:58:20

Good Morning - another grey, drizzle day here. Sorry to read about Paw Maw, another worry for you x. I'm glad I wasn't the only person to read superhero Muslim Maw.

It's great to read the news about dogs, cats and grandchildren here. They're the things that keep us all smiling despite life's travails.
Greyduster - your doctor may be on to something in linking the eye problem with arthritis. It's possible to have negative blood tests yet still have underlying inflammatory arthritis and eye problems are one way of diagnosing it.

Coffee anyone? I'm also making some porridge, it's that kind of morning.

callgirl1 Mon 21-Aug-17 23:33:45

Sorry to hear of Paw`s setback, hope he`s feeling more comfortable very soon.
Lovely photos of little boys, baby, Hattie and Abby.
Galen, tell Downsized there`ll be a gym on board ship, she doesn `t need to go mad beforehand!
Soop, here`s another potential lodger for you, I want to share Rory`s menu!

Tizliz Mon 21-Aug-17 22:55:12

Our dogs got C diff and the vet said they were NOT to have any more raw food, but I don't think/hope that is Paw's problem ?

MawBroon Mon 21-Aug-17 22:28:53

A case of late onset dyslexia had me wondering what superhero Muslims were!! blush

Charleygirl Mon 21-Aug-17 22:18:30

N&G I obviously do not get out much but what are superhero muslins? The photos are great-Finley is tiny. Glad to hear that Jackson has a friend for life.

Surely Finley could be allowed the bacon frazzles, or at least half, for Sunday lunch? It is rather boring having the same food each day, in his case milk. I did laugh when I read what their gifts were.

Hattie looks great and she is really enjoying herself in her house.

It is one bugeration after another for Paw- he must be totally fed up.

I agree Galen please keep well clear, they will not do you any good at all. A quiet corner with a glass in one hand and a book in the other is much better for relieving stress.

Grannysyb that is a beautiful photo of Abby. We do have super photos of dogs, cats, babies and big boys and girls.

If I could work out how to transfer a photo of Tara here, one would be forthcoming. Corner has been helping but she is dealing with the technologically challenged.

Crafting Mon 21-Aug-17 21:39:44

NandG lovely photos. I want to cuddle the baby too. They're so sweet when newly born.

Crafting Mon 21-Aug-17 21:38:16

maw love the pic of hattie with her cuddly toy. Sorry to hear yet another problem for paw. Poor man what a lot he (and you) have to put up with.

Swanny Mon 21-Aug-17 21:09:20

N&G superb photos - made me go all googly-eyed! (Don't know what that means but it's what my fingers typed grin )

Maw it hardly seems possible that Hattie is a recent arrival, she certainly seems at home in this Kitchen and long may she stay. Best wishes for Paw; it's not nice feeling uncomfortable all over. Been there and nearly gave up - so glad I recovered. (One of those 'mystery' illnesses the GPs couldn't identify!!)

Galen I'm with you on the cure for gym allergies - have a rather nice raspberry vodka chilling in the fridge at the moment - hic grin

Happy days to all 'you lot' (do wish we still had italics on GN). I've been a bit over-stressed lately - nothing specific really, just too many things to worry about that all get bigger the more I worry about them, which then encourages minor events to become worrisome grin Normal run-up to the last Bank Holiday before C*****mas for me - I DO NOT LIKE the onset of shorter days sad

grannysyb Mon 21-Aug-17 21:08:16

Maw, so sorry to hear Paw has c.dif, both of you must be really p*** off with everything at the moment. My lovely Abby used to carry her teddy round just like Hattie. Here is she is when she was about 11.

Galen Mon 21-Aug-17 20:42:24

I'm worried about downsized she's attending the gym in preparation for our cruise!?
What does she know about it that I don't?
Fortunately I have a severe allergy to gyms, the only cure is a large vodka and tonic!

MawBroon Mon 21-Aug-17 20:37:03

So sweet!!
Hattie has a "baby " too!
(Hope young Finley gets gentler treatment though. hmm)
Paw is a bit fed up and says he "feels uncomfortable" all over. He has had diarrhoea and a stool sample shows he is testing positive for C. diff.
One dam thing after another. G&Aromatic T time.

NanaandGrampy Mon 21-Aug-17 19:07:07

Evening all from our cosy sofa! And by gosh it's cosy !!

Our visit to see baby Finley went well . He is an extremely mellow chap but sooooo tiny, not 6lbs yet ( he was nearly a month early) .

Everyone had a cuddle and Jackson was delighted that Finley looked at him because they are going to be best friends EVER!!

I've added a couple of pictures.

The gifts after much debate were superhero muslins from Cooper , and two pairs of soft bootees with cars on which may take young Finley awhile to grow into. Jackson also bought him an elephant rattle. The lucky young chap was also gifted 3 matchbox cars, a Lego spaceman and a packet of bacon frazzles!!

We explained that babies drinking nothing but milk..... this was taken totally the wrong way and now both boys think babies drink butt milk!!!

I do not know where they get it from!!

Rory eats exceptionally well soop and I like Charley would like to move in.

Glad Mr*Grey*s eyes were seen to!

Charleygirl Mon 21-Aug-17 18:13:34

soop as I have said before, I am moving in very soon because Rory dines better than I do. Tara is fine, she has her prescription food and eats the same boring dry food each day and loves it so there is no waste or flies.

It has been very dull here today but luckily no rain, that is for night time only. Tomorrow the sun returns I believe and we are going to have a mini heatwave in this part of the country- not that I want to make anybody jealous.

soop Mon 21-Aug-17 17:47:24

Charleyg Nope! His food ain't organic. Let's say...it's the best we can afford. Steamed salmon, tuna in jelly, freshly cooked chicken, (he has joints casseroled just for him) and Vet's specially formulated, packed-with vitamins, delicious biscuits! hmm

Now, 'you lot', go easy on visits to the kitchen, please. I shall pop in after the care home visit. Anyway, you all know how to open a new kitchen should the need arise. grin moon

Charleygirl Mon 21-Aug-17 17:39:23

So pleased to hear that Rory is just using another of his 9 lives. It is great to hear that he can now jump onto a seat whereas a short while ago he had to be lifted gently. My one query re his food- is it organic?! (I will run and hide!) He is a lucky boy and I am 100% certain he knows it as does the lodger who resides here.

I cannot think what Jackson will choose for the baby.

soop Mon 21-Aug-17 15:28:19

Heck! You're so right. We shall need to clean this kitchen thoroughly before we bolt the door. The next kitchen will be roomier. We've a few more pets to accommodate. wink

soop Mon 21-Aug-17 15:26:51

Thank you for your concern regarding Rory's appetite. We worm him regularly. Also, of course, he only eats the best food...no mees or other wild life. His coat is shiny and he certainly isn't experiencing the hind quarter problem when his legs could barely carry him. He now leaps onto the garden bench. Not so long ago he found it difficult to walk that far, let alone jump.

Greyduster Mon 21-Aug-17 14:28:24

Hello, all. Just back from the eye clinic. We set off mega early this morning to try and beat the rush. Offered our fare on the tram as it was only eight twenty and senior citizens passes are not allowed before 0930. The conductress waved the money away and said "if the inspector gets on, I'll come and sell you a ticket before he gets to you!" But he didn't. The doc had a very thorough look at DH's eye and it is the same thing as last time - episcleritis, which is self limiting but could keep flaring up apparently. It could be caused by some underlying health condition - such as arthritis - but DH insists he doesn't have one. I think he has all sorts of things wrong with him but trying to get him to go to the doctors is an uphill job! Anyway, it is more of the same eye drops. We had lunch in town, I treated myself to a pair of trousers and we came home.
I would be interested to hear what Jackson chose for the baby's present, N&G. A model Bugatti Chiron, perhaps? I hope you all had a nice time with the baby before you went back to squishing on that sofa! (There is a limit to togetherness, is there not?). My GS seems to have an empathy with small children and is very good with them. He is an only child unfortunately.
A new kitchen, Soop? Good Lord, it doesn't seem five minutes since this one opened its doors!
