Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.

Lona Sat 09-Sept-17 14:47:39

That's good news baggs, well done.

Baggs Sat 09-Sept-17 14:41:42

Popping in to mention that I drove for the first time in twelve weeks and my injured hand coped allright. MrBaggs came along as co-driver in case it all went horribly wrong! Still can't stretch or curl my fingers properly or flex my wrist properly but feeling confident about driving again is a big thing.

Sneering? shock
Now audible eye rolling hmm that is another matter!! grin

annsixty Sat 09-Sept-17 13:40:00

I will keep that in my mind to use when appropriate.
I was accused of sneering!! Moi sneering!!. Perish the thought.
I hope Paw is making slow progress today.

MawBroon Sat 09-Sept-17 13:34:38

One of my favourites quotes and it seems very apt for Charleygirl, annsixty and any of us feeling the sharp edge of some GN tongues.
Feel free to use any time you like!!

They say! What say they? Let them say (Scottish)
("This was the motto of the Keiths, Earl Marischal, one of whom founded Marischal College, in the University of Aberdeen.”—Andrew Cheviot.)

A wonderful sunny afternoon greeting to my favourite Granspals. You lot make a very real difference to my day. Lovely messages and a stunning newcomer to the pet corner. Welcome to Jane and Charlie...hope that you get well soon.

Maw Yay! A picnic party sounds ideal. If the sun shines, being outside would be best...less mess on the carpet for Hattie to hoover up.

N&G We all send birthday greetings to you. So sorry that you remain unwell. However, once you're up and dancing with joy then you can have a humdinger of a birthday bash. flowers

Galen Hold on to your pearls! And don't lead our downsized into mischief. wink

annsixty Deep breath. Shoulders back. Tummy in. Positive thoughts a plenty. It's never worth getting your bloomers in a twist. Far too uncomfortable. grin

phoenix I bags any banana cake that's going spare. I'll leave my plate out in readiness.

callgirl1 We both said hello to David yesterday morning. Only one camper van on the site. Anyone leaving today will curse. The sun is shining brightly and there is barely a whisper of breeze. What's more...no bloody midges!

Baggs Your hair is ultra fine, very like mine. Your face would suit a wispy razor cut. I wore the wig yesterday. Nine out of ten people said that they loved it. I know that even if the hairdresser tried to fashion my own hair in a like style, it wouldn't work. There would be little body to give it lift.

Last photo (this season) of the mighty Gunnera. It has reached well into the tree canopy.

Charleygirl Sat 09-Sept-17 13:23:03

N&G we were born under the same star sign and are perfect, dependable and intelligent to name a few. That just about sums us up. Not a word from you lot! I agree, enjoy your birthday when you feel better.

Thanks for reminding me, I was supposed to be making mushroom soup for lunch followed by strawberries. I will let you know when the birth is due because that is what I fancy.

Bellanonna Sat 09-Sept-17 13:17:11

Oh, many happy returns N&G! Miserable when you feel unwell though. Glad the soup cheered you up. I bought my soupmaker after reading the thread on here last year and use it a lot. Yes, have a proper birthday when you feel better! X

annsixty Sat 09-Sept-17 13:15:47

Sorry you still seem so poorly N&G your lurgy is taking its time. Very pleased you like your soup maker, I use mine as least weekly,it was leek and potato this week.
What a pity your birthday party has to be postponed. At least you have the anticipation.
Enjoy what you can today and get well soon, this goes for everyone under the weather.

Charleygirl Sat 09-Sept-17 13:02:49

N&G as you are still proper poorly, have you thought of the amount of weight that you will have lost this week? Have you weighed yourself? I do not dare.

NanaandGrampy Sat 09-Sept-17 12:30:18

Afternoon all,

Just a quick visit because despite being my birthday I am still too poorly ! The little boys face timed me to tell me about my surprise party and we have decided like the queen, this year, I will have another birthday when I'm feeling better.

soop Rory is without doubt a one of a kind cat !!

ann I love you !! Grampy made our first soup today ( a mock minestrone) and it was a roaring success and he is now the soup chef!!? Thank you so much for the recommendation !!

To everyone else - a wave- as I am too germyand unpleasant for hugs !! Back when I feel a bit better xx

Galen Sat 09-Sept-17 11:39:35

Bit rough here in the Bay of Biscay but should be through it by midnight

Charleygirl Sat 09-Sept-17 11:22:04

phoenix you have no idea what you are missing- scrummy.

phoenix Sat 09-Sept-17 11:12:53

Errm, thanks for the offer Crafting but I don't like banana anything blush !

Charleygirl Sat 09-Sept-17 09:31:31

ann I totally agree, there are even two threads running about my rude behaviour. I was only following GNHQ rules- I also will stay in but it is sunny here so the washing will be going out.

annsixty Sat 09-Sept-17 09:28:46

It is pouring with rain and has done so all night I think.
It is officially winter as H has put a vest on, I think he only stopped wearing one in June.
It is days like this when I don't feel so bad about having to stay in, how sad is that?
I have been taken to task again on another thread, about the third time now, when will I learn not to venture out of the kitchen?

Charleygirl Sat 09-Sept-17 09:22:02

Maw May I take it as read that Hattie has settled in?!
Taken over more like.

callgirl1 Sat 09-Sept-17 00:32:19

Love the pic Maw!
Soop, after waiting all afternoon for you to appear, and dreading bad news, you`ve cheered me no end.
Kitty, I`m so sorry, meant to say yesterday that I was really sorry to read the news about your friends, so very sad.

Bellanonna Fri 08-Sept-17 22:17:27

?

MawBroon Fri 08-Sept-17 22:16:11

Having difficulty getting off the sofa-just as well I have been enjoying "Cold Feet"!! grin

Crafting Fri 08-Sept-17 21:49:56

kitty big hug coming your way. Sorry to hear about you friends.

Hello phoenix nice to see you in the kitchen. Have a slice of banana cake (delicious by the way baubles) and a natter. ?

maw a tea party sounds a lovely idea and bunting and balloons are a must ???

soop a gentle virtual stroke for Rory. He must know how much you care for him and is trying to stay with you as long as possible.

((Huggs)) for you all. I'm going to sit in the corner now with a glass of wine I might nod off ?

cornergran Fri 08-Sept-17 20:34:09

Quick visit, really, really full day. Good news about Rory, soop, hope you all sleep well. Same wish for sleep to you n&g. Alcohol might help? Good wishes to all, especially poorly folk and those caring for them.

Charleygirl Fri 08-Sept-17 18:46:49

soop I was very wrong saying Rory was using up his 9th life. He is obviously keeping that for hopefully much later.

He does appreciate the TLC placing him in his cat cave and gently bringing him out and popping him on his cushion to lie close to the back door watching the world go by until it is time for a bite to eat which is always a treat.

I quite fancy sharing his morsels so I will be up over the weekend. I am aware I will be fighting N&G for my share although she is probably too poorly at present to bother.

Hopefully you will both sleep much better tonight and Rory will join you tomorrow am to have tea in bed.

soop Fri 08-Sept-17 18:31:08

Wow! I've had a very busy day. I pop in to say a quick hello/goodbye and what do I find? You lot have been chattering away and I see that the kitchen has newcomers. Gorgeous!

I shall have more time tomorrow. I really do need to read through all your messages. And that is what I shall do.

I'm whispering the following - Rory seems to be steadily improving. He's turned a corner. Very difficult for us to dance with joy - BUT - that boy cat is, in MacSporran's words...AMAZING

Until I return in the morrow. (((Hugs))) all round. smile moon

callgirl1 Fri 08-Sept-17 17:17:40

I wonder how Rory is today?
Jane, sorry about Charlie`s cat flu, hope he soon gets over it.
I left the door open to dry my floors erlier, good job I remembered to move Mia`s dish onto the sink, as one of the little neighbourly scavengers popped in for a gander around!
Maw, love the idea of a tea party, I hope Paw enjoys it.
Yesterday it kept looking like rain, so I didn`t put my washing out, then it didn`t rain. Today it was sunny and breezy, so I put the washing out............it`s raining!
