Hats off to you Bambam. Have some dear friends but can't think of one I'd go to those extremes for. Well done you! I'm currently revamping house. Upstairs just completed but I've moved into procrastination big time as I've left the dreaded kitchen until last. Just don't like having workmen in (even my nice local ones) and upheaval. My dear old kitchen does me but it is assuredly dated and tired. I will have to bite the bullet but it's currently a matter of seeing how long I can put it off. Manyana reigns.

My friend of fifty years is arriving from Australia next week. Staying with me initially, then using me as a base. I stayed with her two years ago and she had just moved into a brand new house. Marble floors, immaculate kitchen, all bedrooms en-suite.
I've been working on my chore list for the last two weeks, trying to get my Victorian, high ceiling type home, up to scratch. Amazing how much work to actually "bottom" the place.
Ticking off my list though and only paintwork to do now and all carpets being cleaned tomorrow. Whew!!
Btw she's no snob, we were both brought up in two up two down houses and now I can look forward to having a great time with her.

Tend to disagree with Worlass in that I think the important stuff gets dealt with for a 'must do' reasoning whereas the small stuff can be a constant niggle and only achieve 'should do' status. This can create a personal discontent which is so unnecessary. To my shame, my 'success!!' this morning took a mere 15 minutes whereas my procrastination has managed days. Dearie me.........

Who is alexa?
Another alter ego?

Worlass Tue 29-Aug-17 10:57:22

Stop 'sweating the small stuff' and get on with the important stuff! (After another coffee, of course) grin

Every 'chore' box ticked no matter how trivial is a bonus and makes a plus Day for me.

Today, I will do one thing to help myself.
It doesn't matter how small the step is, as long as it helps me move forward.
