Any new joiners? smile If you've recently signed up to Gransnet or have been around a while but haven't got round to posting anything yet, please pop over to Welcome to Gransnet to introduce yourself and have a virtual cup of cafe or wine.

Hi, joined Gransnet about 7 weeks ago as new GC due and thought very informative information and support available. Hillwalker70, well I'm into the great outdoors in a big way. I have found the threads interesting to read and supportive of woman and their problems and issues and sometimes it's great to get something off your chest. Some very compassionate and kind ladies on here and I have looked forward to receiving the email each morning and everyone wishing everybody a good day. Oh if only everyone did this the world would be such a better place.

Same as Charleygirl monthly meetings are great fun, I love them.
Start a thread on the meet ups page, saying where you would like to meet other GNers, there are bound to be some near you.
Welcome to the forum to all newbies, hope you enjoy it ( yes, it’s much better than Mumsnet here ?)

Welcome Oasthouse maybe you could join one of the coffee meetups if there is one near you or you could start your own! I go to two now on a monthly basis and I have met such pleasant and interesting people. One has been running for well over 4 years.

Good morning, I have been visiting Gransnet on and off for a while and found it as I liked Mumsnet. I am 57, semi retired and looking for inspiration since stopping full time work. I am a little short of family, estranged sadly from my adult children and looking to be positive. I have a lovely husband and my muched loved terrier. I am finding friends now have grandchildren and elderly relatives to care for and are not so available to meet up. Looking forward to getting to know new people here xx

Hello everyone
I’ve just joined after a few weeks of looking on from the sidelines.
I’ve realised Mumsnet is no longer for me and I think I will feel more at home here.
Recently turned 60, empty nester, no grandchildren as yet, partner and I both recently retired and still adjusting to life “under each other’s feet”!
Native of South Yorkshire, resident just over the border in West Yorkshire for over 20 years, starting to think about downsizing.
Looking forward to joining in discussions as I’ve already seen plenty of threads to interest me.
Thanks for having me and look forward to joining in some chats!

Hello everyone. I have just joined Gransnet. Will pop in and out and look forward to reading all that this group has to offer. I am Devon born and bred but also lived down under for several years but back home now to my beloved County.

Hi, I joined Gransnet this morning, finding it purely by chance! I've seen many forums referring to Mumsnet but think this site may be a little more age appropriate. Looking forward to getting to know the site.

jean6enie Mon 05-Aug-19 10:05:01

Love it!

Hello everybody,
I joined a couple of months ago but haven't really been able to get very involved so far. I have a poorly mum (89) in Scotland and I live 6 hours drive away, so haven't had much time lately.
Yesterday I did post something on the Health thread, asking for some advice about LS. If there's a better thread to use please say.
This seems like a really helpful friendly group and hopefully I'll be able to join in more from now on.

Charleygirl5 Fri 02-Aug-19 13:41:57

Welcome all of the newcomers and I hope you enjoy finding your way around. I have been on here for around 7 years and I am addicted!

Pantglas1 Fri 02-Aug-19 12:22:07

Welcome lilydily9 so sad to hear of your loss - we’re all besotted with our grandchildren aren’t we?

And welcome moggie - I’m more of a cat person although I do like dogs and often dog sit for friends when they go away.

Grammaretto Fri 02-Aug-19 12:18:18

welcome both lilydily9 and moggie.
That's terribly sad Lilydily. I hope you find some comfort on here.
