Golden Fry Onion Gravy Powder - I used it for forty years, then it became harder to get (& I used to buy a dozen jars at a time so that DD & DS could take three home when they visited...) Then only Morrisons stocked it -- and it was finally discontinued altogether 'due to lack of demand'... 😱
DS said sadly, 'No more proper gravy Mum' - and he was quite right, as nothing else comes close... As you can probably tell, I'm still bitter fifteen years later...😥

Gypsy cream biscuits
And I second the Golden Wonder Smoky bacon crisps LadyGracie.

Any one else remember half-day closing on Wednesdays? When did we become such a 'must have it now' nation? I quite miss the anticipation of waiting while I saved up for a special item.

Another vote here for Cremola pudding mix, it was yummy

C&A - still take the chance to go shopping there if I am in another European country where they remain a going concern. Loved their Clock House range

Sunday closing, department stores, proper mail order catalogues to browse instead of images online, hand written letters( but there's nothing to stop us continuing to do that).

Oh yes - Symington’s maple and walnut table cream!

My paternal grandfather used to produce Callard and Bowser butterscotch sweets from his inside jacket pocket! I hardly remember him as he died when I was only about 5.

And I loved Barmouth biscuits too - a bit like langue du chat.

What about Batger’s Chinese Figs????

Lupatria Thu 26-Oct-23 13:24:53

bournevita - my favourite bedtime drink.
instant whip - not angel delight as that doesn't go far enough.

Yes!....and renewing our membership of the European Union!
