Substitute for Vitapointe

I have used this for years just now and again to tame my frizzy hair and am stunned to see it now costs about £24 . I am looking for a substitute but it has to be for use on dry hair . Any ideas are welcome .

Vitasoft nothing like Vitapointe I can vouch for this. I would love to find a conditioning cream for dry hair with beeswax in it ~ any advice?

Vitasoft by Superdrug is absolutely no substitute for Vitapointe! I have spent a fortune trying to find a similar hair cream, to no avail. I tried Vitasoft but it is thin and watery whereas Vitapointe is quite thick, but it has kept my hair in immaculate condition for over 60 years. I dread to think what I will use when I finish my final tub (I bought 3 tubs from Amazon when they cost £25 but old stock is now a silly price)

I’ve managed to order quite a few tubes of vitapointe from Australia. Had to wait a few weeks for it to arrive but I’m going to be listing it on eBay. I’d used vitapointe for 30plus years and after it was no longer produced in this country i struggled to find anything that came close, or smelt as nice!!!!! Anyway I will be listing it after Xmas so hopefully you should find it on there

I too use Argon Oil but rub a small amount on my hands and then transfer it to my dry hair. My Goodness, you should see how lovely I look!!

My holy grail too! Brylcreem does the same job but it smells too blokey. So now I use basic hand cream or petroleum jelly. The modern oil based products make absolutely zero difference to my thick flyaway hair.

After trying just about everything, I use this on damp hair. It’s a cheap as chips, around £2, from Supersave and other chemists.

I have a bottle I bought ages ago. I put it in my swim bag and applied a few drops rubbed through under my swimming cap yesterday.
So it got an hour to “stew”. After a wash my hair is super soft this morning.
I don’t usually use a conditioner at the pool, just a leave-in detangler, (much less to wrangle in the shower cubicle! )
I’ll be using this for now on, so, thank you.

John Freida frizz ease works great and as a conditioner you can’t go wrong with three minute miracle conditioner and leave a small amount in. I was a hairdresser for nearly 30 years and found these 2 products which are available to the public better than anything I could get in the wholesalers. I even use them on my dogs frizzy curly coats!

I have found redkin demiss shampoo and conditioner followed by a leave in condition works the best for me. Although the demiss isn’t cheap it. Works good luck

Thanks so much for the offers I have bought some Vitasoft from Superdrug . I got a good deal if I bought two so I did and just thought I wonder if I would live long enough to use both of them as I do not use a lot .

Wow, this product has gone up. I remember it well and did use it years ago. Now use Avon Advance Techniques reconstruction treatment serum and brilliant. Just pop a blob on your hand and work through your hair. Normally £5.75 for 30ml bottle but watch out for Avon offers at times. Excellent product and wouldn't be without it.

I used a little bit of ordinary, cheap baby lotion rubbed on my hands then through my hair.

I use WS Wonder Spray from Aldi and it’s only available 2-3 times during the year you can buy it. It literally flies off the shelves as soon as it’s in and at £4:99, it’s a real bargain. It’s the only thing that tames my hair and stops it going frizzy. They do one for normal and one for curly hair. Highly recommend👍

I use this and a little goes a long way. I can't remember where I bought it but it was probably Boots.

The problem with anything containing oil is that it can strip out colour from dyed hair. I'm not quite ready to go grey yet!

I also use Argon Oil, just a little spread on fingers and pulled through the damp hair. Also an Aldi product called Lacura Pawpaw+Aloe Vera, comes in a small green tube and is excellent for smoothing hair and brows and using as a hand cream. Stops itching from insect bites too!

A lot of my daughter's friends just use their regular hand cream though, when just applied to hands, smoothed down through the hair.

Anyone know of products that have no perfume?
I am allergic to most scents, even some of the stronger essential natural oils.
Hair products are a real problem for me.
