Yesterday I attended a meeting/interview for a voluntary job and I took the advice of several gransnetters to ask the interviewer, obviously a non binary person, what they would prefer to be called.
Them/they said their name changes every day according to the date, so yesterday I should call them Twenty Seven. My immediate thought was "Oh for goodness sake grow up and get over yourself" although thankfully I managed to keep my mouth shut! Twenty Seven went on to tell me they were having a problem recruiting volunteers 
. Unfortunately I decided I was going to be part of the problem, I just couldn't imagine working with them three days a week. I have no problem with people making whatever personal decisions they choose but since I don't always have the date at my fingertips I had no wish to offend them several times a month! Yes I could have checked every time before I went to work ... but really?
