Hello and happy you’re here. I’ve been watching Utube and a number of youngish USA citizens spend time commenting on UK and Europe compared to the USA.

I have three daughters and seven grandchildren the oldest at twenty four and the youngest twins, at ten. My oldest daughter lives in New Zealand, the middle one in Bristol and the youngest in north east England near to me. I was however born in the south west London.

The politics thread can be a little confrontational but lots of the other threads are very useful.

Welcome again 🥂🥳🥳

Hello to you, ayse!

Yes, I have even noticed that the young ones tend to be vocal on the UK/Europe side. That is interesting.

I'm one of three daughters and we love our Mum dearly. I bet you enjoy having your girls! That's ever so lovely.

And yes, it's no surprise the Politics thread may be somewhat confrontational, and it certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea, that's for sure. What's really nice is that there is such a great balance of other things going on in other threads.

Such an interesting and diverse group. That keeps things interesting and fun.

Many thanks!

Hello Miss Redd and welcome!
It is a fun forum and very helpful.

I am also one of the Scottish grans.
We meet up sometimes which is
extra nice.

Hello Grammaretto,

I love your name! That's great! Another Scottish Gran! Fabulous I say. My mum's side of the family was born and raised in Scotland. The name Campbell is so common, I feel I can get away with using it here. smile

I love that you have meet-ups as well. That would be so much fun.

See you again soon!

Hello Miss Redd and welcome. I'm relatively new on Gransnet but really enjoy it here. Lots of good stories, interesting people and lively debate. I get lots of good ideas for tv shows to watch, books to read, films etc. The thing I notice here compared to other sites is the wisdom, combined life experience and kindness of the other Grans. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello Churchview,
Thank you very much for your kind welcome! Well, we can be new and kind of new, together smile

I do love the lived wisdom and experience which I am seeing shared here. It is much needed, in my opinion.

I have a feeling I've found a very positive place to be.

Take good care and see you around!

Hello all,

I just wanted to pop in to introduce myself. I'm Miss Redd. I have been reading so many brilliant threads here at GN!

What a fun and fascinating bunch you all are. I'm really looking forward to getting to know the place better and hear your amazing stories and posts.

I'm a dual citizen of the US and UK, having moved here in 2009. I call this my home now. I feel at home and this is where my heart is.

I met my hubby and decided since I have the pioneer spirit, I would move here. What a journey, but I would not change it for the world.

I keep myself very busy. Mum to one, Grand-mum to one lovely Granddaughter, who will be 15 next year.

I live here with my DH and Jackapoo dog (she's lovely) and my Tuxedo cat boy. We find all sorts of ways to keep busy.

I work from home. I am a Funeral Celebrant, Funeral Arranger/Funeral Sales person and End of Life support person (AKA End of Life Doula).

I'm a "people person", and I am always interested in other's lives and experiences.

Thanks and am very happy to be here!
