The trick with cutting a fringe is to only take off a couple of mms each time and do this often. You need to pick up your fringe between your index and middle fingers and raise it up and snip a tiny smidgeon off.

My hair is just below chin length and when it needs a trim I put it into two bunches, pull these round to the front, slide the bands down to the length I want and snip the little "paint brushes" from the bottom below the band - bingo! - job done!

I have never coloured my hair as it is dark brown - but in the event of me living long enough for it to go grey I have pink in mind .......

Oh, goodness! Mine is stubbornly brown too but I'd quite like purple 😂

Yes, but if you want it slightly feathery and not 'blocky' then snip gently up into the bottom of it too.

She’s a year older than me and I wish I could nip up and down steps like she does.

I imagine that Joanna Lumley is extremely confident in her own skin, and doesn’t give a flying fig what anyone thinks of her style.

Yes, some Moroccan Oil would work wonders.

Probably because most people can't imagine what it's like and also there is no help out there so talking about it is a bit pointless.

I'm glad you think it isn't really talked about Jane. It means you haven't read my several posts whining on about my hair loss and I haven't bored everyone to death!

Kate I have read your posts I meant talked about in the wider sense apart from Joan Collins who I think has been quite open about it.

Why? It’s not mentioned in the OP and Joanna Lumley doesn’t appear to suffer from hair loss.

Because it's something that isn't really talked about and I thought it would be about something deeper when I opened the thread rather than Joanna just styling her own hair. That is all.

Yes, I agree. that dying your grey hair too dark is equally aging, but a nice warm blonde or chestnut brown ( I personally think ) is less aging.

I don't understand the difference between being beautiful and/or attractive

I remember my family saying tall women couldn't be pretty they could be attractive but not pretty, what is the reasoning behind this?

I’ll probably get shot down but I always think her hair looks a bit of a mess.

I agree and tho she used to be an attractive woman was never beautiful, few people are in reality.

I disagree that grey hair or in my case majority white hair necessarily ages a woman. I Had very dark brown hair but am very very pale skinned with just a few freckles but now compared to my white hair my face looks more alive or at least less “day old corps” …sorry

I love watching anything with Joanna Lumley in it. Her comedy roles are brilliant and she steals every scene. I also like her travelogues and her fashion style inspires me.
Her hairstyle always suits her fab bone structure.

She can be a bit over gushy but I’ll forgive her that.

Camilla's hair looks like candy floss. The late Queen had such a dignified and classic style. I miss her so much.

I think Camilla’s hair is just fine, feminine but not too silly as befits her status.

Princess Anne’s Hair style is horrendous in my opinion but it is her unique trademark as a Royal born princess.

Not every older female wants to morph into either one of my sixties dollys -as in all curly perm, stiffened with spray, or a Judy Dench.
Not every female actually cares all that much and JL is certainly as photogenic as ever!

Well I am completely bald (alopecia). I would give anything for Joanna's hair, or anyone else's for that matter.

Joanna Lumley in my eyes can do no wrong ,I think she is sophisticated,funny,elegant and just somebody I admire so much.
She could be completely bald, and I would still love the woman

Joanna Lumley is a beautiful woman, she looks after herself, so her hair being a bit wild looks good, as the rest of her is very well groomed. The average woman would look like a bag lady with hair like hers though, so it’s not a look to be embraced I don’t think. I’d never cut my own hair, but I have coloured it myself in the past, I did in lockdown - was I ever glad when hairdressers reopened!
